    After 4 miscarriages, 39 weeks of a high-risk pregnancy and >24 hours of labor, I am excited to announce the birth of our baby, Atika Damodaran. She will be my constant reminder of the impact determination, perseverance and science can have on human life.

    Excited to announce that our lab has been awarded ~ $1M #NSF CAREER grant to develop new #metalloenzymes for #sustainable #catalysis and increase #metals in #biology awareness among public. I want to be amazed we got the grant as it was written mostly like 👇 with no childcare..

    Thrilled to announce that our lab has been awarded the NIH MIRA grant that brings in $1.9 M to decode and rewire #metalloenzyme dependent redox signaling pathways. It's not even been 2 years since I started independent position & 4 years since my PhD, NIH is really spoiling me!

    ok, this covid-19 situation is super stressful for junior PIs. Having to move to online teaching when I just "figured" in class teaching + asking my lab to go to semi-hibernation at the brink of crucial experiments/papers+ deciding to send my child to daycare or not. AAAAAAAAH
