- USTR will suspend all U.S. trade engagement with Burma under the 2013 Trade and Investment Framework Agreement. We support the people of Burma's efforts to restore a democratically elected government, which has been the foundation of Burma’s economic growth and reform.
- Today, I convened a roundtable discussion with stakeholders, NGOs, and members of Congress to discuss our concerns with Mexico’s energy policies. We believe Mexico’s actions increase state control, limit competition, and hinder the fight against climate change.
- We have serious concerns about changes in Mexico’s energy policies and their consistency with commitments under the USMCA. We have tried to work with the Mexican government to address these concerns—unfortunately U.S. companies continue to face unfair treatment in Mexico.
