Black children don’t need any more “tough love”.

Twitter fam: I was just accepted into Yale PhD program!!!! I will pursue my PhD as I complete my residency! Best part: my research is on identifying and mitigating the effects of racism on Black girls ❤️ I will use the racism I’ve experienced as fuel to help

The percentage of Black doctors has not changed in 120 years. Let that marinate. Still reeling.

Thank you @USATODAY for the accurate title, which is more than I can say for other news articles describing her as “complaining”. Words matter. Hurting for her family who will not be able to share the holidays with her ever again.

Life of a Black resident: torn about whether I should consult on a racist patient after looking at his chart and seeing he calls staff the N word. Is this really helpful to my learning? Is this trauma even recognized? Black residents deserve protection.

For years, I was brainwashed by white supremacy that braids & twists weren’t formal enough. “Looking nice” meant straightening my hair. Glad I woke up. Black women, our hair is BEAUTIFUL. #dressedup #formalball ✌🏽

As a Black woman, I am very hesitant to join women’s movements or initiatives. In honor of #InternationalWomensDay2022 and #WomensHistoryMonth, I’ll tell you why. Let me tell you a story…(1/?)

I GOT PUBLISHED IN @NEJM y’all! “As a resident, I have seen racist behavior in every clinical rotation. Sometimes I just want to focus on psychopharmacology, but racism calls me and I must answer.”

“Microaggressions”, “veiled aggressions”, and “implicit bias” are placating terms and aggressor-centered. It’s racism. And it’s a macro experience.

If you’re worried that teaching about racism in schools will make white children feel badly, just IMAGINE how Black children feel experiencing racism daily. Are you worried about them too? 🤔

Can we talk about healthcare provider burnout due to medical racism or y’all ain’t ready yet?

“Oppositional defiant disorder” is a racist and lazy diagnosis for children who are struggling. Fight me 🤗

So, if you are going to be pro-woman and celebrate #WomensHistoryMonth #InternationalWomensDay2022 , you should DEFINITELY be anti-racist and anti-racial hierarchy. Because, Black women are women, too, ya know 🙃. (14/14). #upliftallwomen
