- According to Sulphur High School principal David Pool, head football coach Cecil Thomas has been relieved of his coaching duties. Tors went 1-3 under Thomas.
- Crazy finish to the LHSAA state baseball tournament. Barbe scores 9 in the 7th to beat West Monroe 10-4. Donovan LaSalle (5) hit a grand slam in the 7th.
- Long-time Sulphur High School girls basketball head coach Helen Lefevre picked up her 800th win today, 55-21 over Vinton at the Westlake HS/Lakeside Bank. In 36 seasons at Starks, LaGrange and Sulphur, Lefevre is 800-340.
- Sulphur's Scott Jones hits a walkoff 3-run homerun, Tors beat Hahnville 7-6 and win 5A regional playoff series 2-0.
- In his first 90 at bats this season, Sam Houston catcher Silas Ardoin didn't hit a home run, in his last five he has hit 3. Ardoin hit 2 home runs today to lead Sam Houston to an 8-1 win over Sulphur.

- Sulphur HS/Rice University product J.T. Chargois just earned his first MLB win for the Los Angeles Dodgers. Pitched scoreless 7th inning with 1 strikeout in a 5-2 win over Arizona Diamondbacks.
