- Hi everyone. After 43 years, eight months and four days, I have retired at The Examiner. The memories, the friendships, the special coaches, players, moms, dads and co-workers - you have made an indelible impact on my life. Lots of news to come, just wanted to let everyone know!
- My mother, Grandma Bubbles, passed away a few minutes ago. She was surrounded by the family she loved. She was in hospice care at my brother’s home. Thanks for all your prayers.
- My mom suffered a stroke this morning. Prayers and good thoughts appreciated. She is 90 and loves her family, the @kc_mavericks, animals - especially dogs- and life. She is a fighter!
- Khalil Davis drafted today by Tampa Bay, followed by his twin brother Carlos going to Pittsburgh. So happy for 2 iconic Wildcats - won 2 state titles in football & track & starred at Nebraska. Imagine brothers getting drafted into the NFL on the same day. Congrats to their family
- Replying to @ThatEricAlperRolling Stones, Who, Neil Young, Elton John, Billy Joel, Green Day, Lou Reed, Trans Siberian Orchestra, Queen, Mott the Hoople, Grateful Dead, Flaming Lips, Eagles, Linda Ronstandt, Fleetwood Mac - all this means is that I am old, very old. 69th birthday today!
- Just received a letter from Sam Knopik, president of the Greater Kansas City Football Coaches Association, notifying me I have been elected into GKCFCA Hall of Fame. Quite an honor, thank you so much for all those who nominated/voted for me. I am humbled. A great organization!
- To every senior, student/athlete, singer, musician, Robotics team member, Scholar Bowl participant, drama and speech and debate student - my heart breaks for you today. And I know your respective superintendents, ADs, coaches and teachers feel the same way. There are no words...
- My mom is going to hospice Monday morning. Tonight is her last night with the amazing staff at @lee’s Summit East. We can never thank Kristina and Sydney for all you have done for Grandma Bubbles and our family.
- Oak Grove 15-year-old Jordan Rodriguez is battling brain cancer. He enjoyed a bucket list item tonight, becoming part of the OGHS basketball team. He also wants to attend an NBA game, visit Florida and meet Ariana Grande. @TheEllenShow ... think you could help him out?
- This is how I will remember my mom. She was front row at the @kc_mavericks opening win this season. She is gone but she provided those who knew her a lifetime of memories. Thanks Grandma Bubbles, have fun up there with KL and Peanut
- Asking for prayers today at 12:15 for my wife Stacy. She is having her fourth eye surgery - and the previous surgeries have not been successful. Her vision is blurry, foggy, she cannot read or drive. We are praying for a miracle today. Thank you so much.
- @Royals Hall of Fame pitcher Dennis Leonard, one of the really good guys, was on hand to watch his grandson Dennis Leonard lead Grain Valley to a 5-4 win at Blue Springs. Young Leo had 8 Ks in the complete game win. @Tarrants_GVHS @GVHSEagles
- What an honor to watch this young man’s All-American career at @LSNorthFootball. @CaydenGreen3 you and your parents @dvonne24 @Reginal56487545 are so special. You, your teammates and @JamarMozee have created a winning culture at North.
