- Allegheny County 9-1-1 has received reports of a loud boom, shaking in the South Hills and other reports. We have confirmed that there was no seismic activity and no thunder/lightning. At this point, we have no explanation for the reports, but agencies are continuing to look.
- Since Friday, March 15, two baby buffalo were born in the herd at Allegheny County South Park! The Parks staff have named the baby who was born on Friday, March 15, Riis, after the founder of the Allegheny County Parks system, and the baby who was born on Sunday, March 17,
- As of noon, all outer envelopes of mail in ballots in the warehouse have been opened. Inner envelopes are being opened and workers are extracting ballots from inner envelopes. The scanning of ballots for tabulation has begun. Results will not be posted until after 8 pm.
- Due to the confluence of two presidential campaign rallies scheduled for downtown on Monday, 11/4, Allegheny County and the City of Pittsburgh are jointly announcing an early dismissal for non-essential County and City workers on Monday at noon.
- No one is being blocked from anything and no one has reported anything or raised any concerns at the site.Troubling news in @Allegheny_Co,PA. Election officials blocking observation of absentee ballot processing. One official at site allegedly boasts the system is designed to block ballot observation. - .@HealthAllegheny today announced that, for the first time in its history, all eight air quality monitors in the county have met federal air quality standards. This milestone means that the region is now in attainment with carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxide, ozone & PM2.5, PM10.
- The @steelers partnered with Citrone 33 to donate 5,000 masks to Allegheny County lead men and rovers who will distribute them to polling places in use for Tuesday's election The donation will allow elections officials to safely perform their duties amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.
- As of 2:20 PM, all inner envelopes of mail in ballots that are currently in the warehouse have been opened. Staff continues to remove ballots from the inner envelopes and prepare ballots for the scanners.
- As of 7 am, all 1327 precincts are open for Election Day. Over 200 county workers have sworn in at the warehouse and are beginning the process of pre-canvassing the more than 215,000 mail in ballots that have already been returned. Voters can continue to hand in mail in ballots
- Thank you to the fine folks at @WinBigRivers who, along with #CarmisRestaurant delivered meals for our elections workers. They all enjoyed a fantastic meal of fried & baked chicken, green beans & mashed potatoes.
