My Dad aged 92-a lifelong fan, is struggling with a severe chest infection now on top of his advanced dementia but he’s still wearing his @acciesfc top and still smiling. In his world, we always win and if we don’t, it’s the referee 🤣

- And they’ve done it!!! Scotland are World Mens Curling Champions 2023. What a week. What a performance and what a privilege to be here to see it live. Congratulations @TeamMouat
00:00 - Finally got my Dad to an Accies game again. He’s 87 & has dementia so EVERYTHING is a challenge. Big thx @acciesfc for helping us.
- Lots of shouting and standing up for ‘truth’ in Parliament. If only MPs - opposition and otherwise- had stood up and shouted for carehome residents and families, in the same way.
- He’s made it to his 93rd birthday. My lovely Dad Sandy. A lifelong fan, he still loves wearing his @acciesfc top. Despite his dementia he always brightens up when we talk about The Accies.
- Not much makes sense to my 89yr old lovely Dad any more. That’s what dementia does. But 2things still resonate-my Mum & @acciesfc big thx to staff in carehome for sorting his room!
- My favourite photo with legend Billy and one of the highlights of my career with the BBC. Seville 2003.
- 5 years ago today Mum when u still knew who I was, when u still had a quality of life with Dad,before @NicolaSturgeon &co locked u away without family for 2 years surrounded by masks. They destroyed you & we re still trying to make them accountable @covidinquirysco
- Dear @NicolaSturgeon I have to make this personal because it is. So, think on: YOUR parents are in a Carehome & one of the most vulnerable groups to Covid on the planet. Then it is decided that someone who is still Covid positive is discharged into that home? How would u feel?
- Replying to @ScotlandSky and @edhodgesportThe Scotland fans in Germany have done more to promote Scotland on the international stage than any mega millions marketing campaign could ever do.
- I will never be able to get my head round having to make an appointment to see my own parents in their ‘Home’, having to be tested & isolated and then be one of the masses around them continually wearing masks. For those with dementia this situation continues to be catastrophic.
- First Minister, I would like you to try &Skype/FaceTime my parents in their Carehome with the iPads you offer& maybe then u will see how ineffective, inappropriate & useless they are for those with dementia. The majority of folk in carehomes have this horrible disease @ScotGovFM
