- to riff off Ross Douthat, if you dislike the Fed Soc legal right, wait till you meet the post-Fed Soc legal rightdamn, I did not realize the prosecutor who blew the whistle on the Adams deal and resigned from DOJ was a Fed Soc member and Scalia clerk.

- 1. A lot of the news coverage of this has implied that Civil Rights Division lawyers are apolitical expert technocrats who neutrally follow the law and facts whereever they may lead. This is true in some individual cases but alas wildly naive optimism about CRT as a whole...🚨 The Washington Post reported that about half of the lawyers in the Justice Department's Civil Rights Division resigned after the new head of the division, Harmeet Dhillon ordered her team to focus on combating anti-Semitism, transgender women's participation in women's sports,
- Because the president and the DOJ are both in the executive branch, it is not in fact a separation of powers problem for the president to set enforcement priorities for the Civil Rights Division. Sheesh, NPR.
