    My super-clever mother Mary died tonight. Cambridge science graduate, voracious reader, could speak several languages, widely travelled, married for 64 years to my dad who she adored and who cared for her so well. She liked hats and cats and loved strong-minded women. What a gal!

    Wellingborough Walks Action Group did it! Took the council and a massive developer to court - and won. It's been quite the story to follow from early protests to @paulpowlesland being arrested to the High Court. Off to Wellingborough for the next chapter

    Coventry Cathedral - amazing, awesome. Living in Kettering, over the years, I've been told many times you could see the glow of Coventry on fire during that dreaded blitz. I thought about my mate George, who watched the burning horizon from his isolation ward as a teenager.

    A week ago in Wellingborough, work scheduled for 5 days to clear 61 trees - part of the Victorian Walks avenue of limes leading down to the River Nene from the town centre - was due to begin. Since the trees form an iconic gateway to the town, residents objected

    In Wellingborough at London Road tree felling @paulpowlesland is up one of the 40 trees due to be felled in The Walks. He's coming down so there's a stand off between Mr Powlesland and @NorthantsPolice
