Very disappointed that @FIFAcom once again avoided taking a firm stance in @Israel and @IsraelFIFAclubs being located in or playing in settlements in the occupied Palestinian territory. In direct opposition with international law, as reiterated by the ICJ 2024 Opinion.

In its Advisory Opinion, the ICJ states that Israel’s occupation of the Gaza strip and West Bank, including East Jerusalem, is unlawful and Israel's policies violate the prohibition on racial segregation and apartheid set out in article 3 CERD

Prohibiting Russian and Belarus athletes from the #Olympics by the #IOC is #discrimination & a flagrant violation of human rights. The IOC mentions my letter to them as a basis for their new recommendation. In the face of illegal wars, Sports should uphold human rights. @iocmedia

#MONDIACULT2022: I reminded states that SDGs are based on the States’ human rights *legal obligations*. I asked for implementation of UNESCO documents. I asked for real participation of the civil society and the marginalised in implementing their understanding of development.
