I feel really honored of receiving the Angelika Amon Young Scientist Award from MIT, specially as a 1st generation graduate student from a low-income family in Mexico. This was only possible thanks to the efforts of my family, and also the support of my advisor @jacob_hanna
Cheers to the winners of the Angelika Amon Young Scientist Award, @alejandroagca @weizmannscience & @melanietalata @impvienna! The award recognizes life sciences grad students from outside the US who embody an infectious enthusiasm for discovery science ki.mit.edu/news/2022/intr…

I had a blast traveling to MIT for the Angelika Amon young scientist award ceremony. It was a dream to present my work at the Luria auditorium at the Kock Institute, and to meet so many amazing scientists. Thanks to Angelika's family and MIT for this opportunity!

Amazing work from Ebisuya lab that opens many new possibilities.
New paper from the lab! We developed an optogenetic tool, OptoShroom3, to induce apical constriction in illuminated cells(left). By controlling cell shapes, OptoShroom3 can induce tissue shape changes, including lumen shrinkage of neural organoids(right). doi.org/10.1038/s41467…
