Al Carns has now confirmed what the @LibDems have said from the outset. Whilst the Tories’ Legacy Act unforgivably equated our brave veterans with terrorists, Labour’s Troubles Bill is equally flawed in not providing our veterans with sufficient safeguards & protections.We owe those who serve the UK the kit to do the job and the loyalty to stand by them when it's done. We are failing on both. I’ve spent my whole time in government making that case. Number 10 will not listen, so I am resigning as Minister for the Armed Forces. Letter to the PM

I didn’t vote for either of the winners of the last two General Elections but “traitors” for whom a “reckoning is coming”? Really? This very excitable, angry & hyperbolic man should be nowhere near a position of responsibility in a political party that aspires to power.Recent events demonstrate why I view the Tory and Labour politicians who created the burning injustice of modern Britain as traitors to their country. A reckoning is coming. - The world has changed since 2016. Labour hasn’t. Starmer, Burnham and Streeting are all trapped by Theresa May’s Brexit ‘red lines’.
