Fred Hampton’s mother used to babysit Emmett Till.
George Floyd’s girlfriend was Daunte Wright’s teacher.
U.S. Army 2nd Lt. Caron Nazario is Eric Garner’s cousin.
To be interconnected by trauma— the ripple effect that anti-Black violence has generationally is immeasurable.
Sexualizing a Black girl child (all babies do this dance). A man introducing harm to her as a justification for behaving in a way (again dancing) he doesn’t like. The mother who laughs and records? The “Black Kids” page that thinks it’s funny “no babies were harmed” you sure?
It’s always “Let a child be a child— yet it’s always adults projecting their nasty thoughts on INNOCENT CHILDREN and Black girls get it the worst. I was dress coded so much growing up and punished for a body shape or body development I had absolutely no control over.
If I start to connect the dots it’ll be “Ya’ll be doing to much on this bird app, everything’s not a thinkpiece” but the comment section on this video tells me adults really think this baby is twerking rather than simply— being a baby.
Black capitalism is still capitalism. Black people exploiting other Black people via AirBnbs and other rental properties while contributing to the housing crisis is not Black liberation or revolution. It’s just capitalism directed by a Black hand. Let’s be honest about it.
Excuse me?
Y’all remember a few months ago when I posted about tiny homes? And how Atlanta was building the first Black owned tiny home village?
Well the avg U.S. tiny house is about $40k but the tiny homes in this village are starting at $190k. I’m done w tiny homes.😒
Things our parents do and say to us leave lasting lifetime impressions and shape our relationships as adults.
Adults need to learn how not to steal children’s joy. You can always mold and redirect your child in a loving and respectful way.
I love this mother’s empathy 👇🏾
