    Got the best news ever today - my PET scan showed I'm CANCER FREE!!!! It turns out I do have to go back for more scans every few months for the next couple years just to make sure I'm still clear, but I'm so elated and can't believe this day is finally here 🥹

    BREAKING: Just saw DC Police + federal agents detain a man on the National Mall. He appeared to try to escape, then was quickly tackled to the ground by several agents + was screaming in Spanish “please, I’m not a criminal, I work here, I want to be with my family” @nbcwashington

    UPDATE: ICE has sent a statement on this man’s detention, saying his name is David Perez-Teofani and that he was arrested in Fairfax County in 2024 and charged with aggravated sexual battery against a minor under 13 @nbcwashington

    DC MISSING TEEN: Brian Ward, 18, has been missing from Petworth for over a year now. His parents tell me they're heartbroken and extremely worried. They say Brian loves his family, has never been in trouble, and it's extremely unlike him to not be in contact @nbcwashington

    BREAKING: Sean Urbanski (left) was just sentenced to life in prison for 1st degree murder, for killing Lt. Richard Collins III (right) in 2017. Collins was waiting at a UMD bus stop when Urbanski walked up, told him to "step left," then stabbed him in the chest @nbcwashington

    FIRST FEMALE, BLACK, & ASIAN VP: Spoke to several local Indian Americans about the significance of Kamala Harris' accomplishment to the Indian American community. One woman tells me when her parents immigrated here, they "could never have imagined an Indian American as VP."

    Chemo round #4 💉 This stuff has been rough but I’m getting through it. I’ve been learning to crochet stuffed animals and am planning to donate them to kids with cancer!

    DC PRESCHOOL TEACHERS ATTACKED: This Ring video shows some of the terrifying moments yesterday when a man attacked two DC preschool teachers, as they were out walking with the toddlers. In the video, you can hear the kids screaming and crying @nbcwashington

    I'm just now leaving Petit Scholars in Bloomingdale, where staff and families have been shaken by a deeply disturbing incident today. Two teachers were attacked near 2nd and S St NW while a group of teachers were walking three classes of toddlers and infants.

    This Thanksgiving, I am so thankful to be done with my LAST CHEMO treatment! It honestly seemed like this day was so far away and would never come, but I finally made it!
