2022 has been wild 🥺 - Got a book deal - wrote two novellas - Got literary & film agents - wrote ~32 stories & a handful of poems - ~ Got 66 shorts/poems acceptances (incl. solicited pieces) - ~58 shorts/poems pubbed - received ~ 395 rejections - sent out ~ 488 submissions

This is something I’ve thought endlessly about whenever I notice recurring themes in my work, but each time the theme will be explored differently or more in depth as I inch towards answering my own questions & I think there’s something beautiful about seeing the growth overtime

One thing I learned from watching Hayao Miyazaki films is that it’s okay to tell variations of the same story over and over again. That sometimes you will need to tell the same story in different ways (often at different points in your life) until you can finally be free of it.
