    Happy birthday to chemist Edward Kendall (March 8, 1886) who shared the 1950 Nobel Prize for Medicine for his research on adrenal cortex hormones. Kendall isolated 'Compound E' later named cortisone, the steroid that those with Addison's disease need to take daily. #OnThisDay
