40% of the Land in the 48 lower states is owned by government. 96% of Alaska is owned by government. 50% of the West is owned by the federal government. America was founded on the idea that the people would own the land and therefore have the means to control our government.
I'm totally against selling this land. Nobody is going to build "affordable housing" deep in the Olympic Peninsula, which is one of the most beautiful places in the country. I want my kids hiking, fishing, and camping on those lands, not selling them for some tax-credit scam.
