    Sgt Val Barnes was the officer injured in Tuesdays shooting at @NortheastECHS. Sgt Barnes is a 22yr US Army veteran and has served @AustinISD as a police officer for 28yrs. Thats 50yrs of service. “I’m just glad it was me, and not any of our kids.” #ServantLeadership #GetWellSoon

    Congratulations to our newest Lieutenant, Wayne Sneed, who was promoted today by @chiefagonzalez! Lt Sneed has 38yrs of LE experience. Serving @AustinISD for 11yrs, he dedicated himself to coordinating our Mental Health Officers. Lt. Sneed will now supervise our South District.

    Sgt Val Barnes returned to work yesterday! Sgt. Barnes was the officer who was shot @NortheastECHS in December. We are so tremendously grateful for the outpouring of love, support, and prayers that carried Sgt. Barnes through his speedy recovery. #cantkeepagoodmandown @AustinISD
