ACPD has charged 33-year-old Davonya Adamson of Charlottesville, Va., with aggravated malicious wounding (§18.2-51.2) and domestic assault and battery (§18.2-57.2a). Adamson is being held at the Albemarle-Charlottesville Regional Jail without bond.

Upon arrival, officers located an adult male suffering from multiple stab wounds. The victim was transported to UVA Health in serious but non-life-threatening condition and has since stabilized. Investigators determined that the incident was a domestic-related matter.

An Albemarle County grand jury returned indictments on June 1 for 37yo Michael J. Swiney. Swiney turned himself in to ACPD on June 3. Swiney faces 7 counts of aggravated sexual battery, 3 counts of incident liberties & 1 count of attempted aggravated sexual battery.

The investigation began in Jan 2026 when a victim reported that a staff member at their school had engaged them in inappropriate sexual contact. Further investigation revealed 3 additional juvenile victims who also reported unwanted sexual contact between Aug. 2024-Jan. 2026.
