    I hoped we were done with government mandates in our response to COVID, but the current rate of spread and hospitalization is not sustainable, for our hospitals, our schools, our public safety agencies, or our businesses. Masks slow the spread, and it’s time to put them back on.

    On Saturday, First Lady Yumi Hogan and I stood on the tarmac at @BWI_Airport to welcome the first ever Korean Air passenger plane, carrying a very important payload of LabGun #COVID19 test kits which will give MD the capability of performing half a million coronavirus tests.

    I am saddened to learn this evening from @MDHealthDept that #AnneArundel has suffered our first death from COVID-19 - a county resident in his 80's. We don’t yet know who he is, but we know that he is one of us. We want his family to know that we are there for them.

    Today, I signed an executive order to close all private and community playgrounds in #AnneArundel. We closed county playgrounds last week, but are receiving reports that people are still congregating on neighborhood playgrounds. We must keep our children safe and #SlowtheSpread.
