Sooo...when I go on my little soapbox about this thing called a "tech pipeline"? This pic is what I mean. Almost 100 little Black/brown girls (in Oakland) doing robotics the Sat before Christmas.
Press release: so itβs 3 days before Christmas and you wake up to discover the organization YOU created and built from the ground up has been taken away by a rogue board with no notification. VC: @BlackGirlsCode
We're incredibly excited + elated to receive a $3M donation from Mackenzie Scott to support our work at @BlackGirlsCode / honored to be amongst an incredible list of transformative peer organizations!

Oh snap! Elizabeth Warren is coming for Silicon Valley and the lack of diversity in tech π³. First who have her folks been talking to? Secondly she so far outpaces the pack on most deeply rooted issues. Lastly, she has gotten my attention. π
But even if we fully close the startup capital gap, deep systemic issues will continue to tilt the playing field. 86% of venture capitalists are white, and studies show that investors are more likely to partner with entrepreneurs who look like them.
Companies I have a message for you; if your Black/brown employees/executives are the only ones advocating on behalf of diversity and inclusion in your org? Youβre doing it ALL wrong.
π£π£π£ Thank you for coming to my TED talk...
Absolutely love that Naomi is putting herself first. Because if you donβt put yourself first no one else will. Especially when youβre seen as a product.
I'm So proud to support A Wrinkle in Time and this brilliant sister in whatever she does. Thank you @ava for letting our tech divas and all girls know the future belongs to them. π#AWrinkleInTime#WarriorsWhoCode#BlackGirlsCode
