Looking through some of my old AAU stuff. Gabby Johnson-Morgan State. Kelis Fisher-headed to UConn, Nyceara Pryor- Sacred Heart, Tatum Greene- headed to Boston College. Those days in the gym were crazy.
We lost a big contributor to DMV Girls basketball in Johnny Mack. Sending out condolences to his Maryland Shooting Stars and St. Frances Academy basketball families as well as his wife, children and extended family. I'll miss our battles on and off the court. Rest easy.
Watched girls hoop all weekend. Lots of talented players. Also lots of selfish 1 on 5 stuff going on. Some girls really don't pass AT ALL. Straight ball hogs. Driving into traffic and throwing up terrible shots. Then the parents will post about how they scored 12 points. 4-30!
Dear class of 2020. If you are still unsigned please consider going to a good JUCO program to work on your game and continue to chase your dreams there. Lots of 4 year schools are recruiting heavily from junior colleges. There is no shame in taking a different path than planned.
Quick advice to AAU coaches. Go to as many D2/D3 games as possible and ask yourself if the kids on your roster would dominate those games or even contribute. If not, don't reach out to D1 schools to recruit them. We have to be honest about what level players we have.
I'm hoping the basketball community will send positive vibes, prayers and suppprt to my @POWERMOVEGBB family as we go through this tough time. It's serious and we need y'all. Thanks in advance.
Here with @skREESE32 at Washington Adventist and there are a lot of people that care about him here. I don't have much else to give you. Very cautiously optimistic.
