The EX has arrived in Portland! We're immensely excited & proud to serve Oregon and protect the PNW. We are honored that the @usairforce has recognized that the 142nd Wing has what it takes to be the first to defend our nation with the @BoeingDefense F-15EX Eagle II. #EXcited
12 F-15C Eagles assigned to the 144th Fighter Wing out of Fresno, California are in Portland this month performing defensive and offensive counter air training alongside the 142nd Wing's F-15Cs and EXs. The 144th FW will be in town until the 18th.
Aircraft 009 is our latest F-15EX to be delivered to Portland. Shortly after its arrival, maintainers applied RedHawk and Portland decals to the tips of the wings. These, along with the RedHawk featured on the wings, distinguishes the aircraft as part of the 142nd Wing’s fleet.
The EX is coming!
Members of our EX conversion team made a visit to Boeing in St. Louis to see the Oregon bound aircraft on the assembly line. Next year, Oregon will be home to the first operational unit to fly the F-15EX Eagle II.
Yesterday at around 1:30 p.m, we conducted a training flight off the coast of Oregon. We inadvertently caused a sonic boom while pointed slightly toward the coastline. We understand that this caused concern from our coastal residents and for that we sincerely apologize.
The U.S. Navy Blue Angels made quite an entrance as they arrived at Portland Air National Guard Base this afternoon! They'll be performing in the Oregon International Air Show in McMinnville, OR this coming weekend.
