    80 years ago, nearly 73,000 U.S. troops landed on Normandy — some by parachute, some by glider, and some by boat. For most of them, it was the first time they would step foot on the European continent. For many, it would also be the last. This day, we remember them all.

    In honor of the Army's 250th birthday and finishing Week of the Eagles 2025, the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) held an Air Assault demonstration at TSAAS and Brig. Gen. Travis McIntosh, Deputy Commanding General (Support), led new Army recruits in the Oath of Enlistment.

    We are deeply saddened to hear of Jim “Pee Wee” Martin’s passing.  He is a true legend in the 101st and will live on forever. This division was founded on the sacrifice, valor, audacity and sheer grit of Soldiers like Pee Wee Martin.  Pee Wee will be greatly missed.

    Yesterday, Dr. Jill Biden helped Santa Claus hand out toys, gifts, and other treats and goodies to Fort Campbell families displaced by the Dec. 9th tornado. This was part of the First Lady’s “Joining Forces” initiative. Thank you, Dr. Biden, for coming to Fort Campbell.

    Today is D-Day. Many troops were shot to pieces before their boots could even hit the sand. Paratroopers killed before they hit the ground, planes shot down, explosions, anti-aircraft flak. Remember the price they paid. Remember what they bought with it. #DDay77 #DDay

    We aren’t crying, you’re crying. 🥹 Welcome home eagles! Early Saturday afternoon, 129 soldiers with the 1st Battalion, 101st Aviation Regiment, were welcomed home at Sabre Army Airfield from their nine-month deployment to the Middle East.
