DISCLAIMER:
Virtual Reality (“VR”) is a new technology which is developing all the time. As with any new technology, there is limited research into the long-term effects of using VR and there are some risks associated with its use. Due to these risks, Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum requires you to read this disclaimer statement before participating in the VR experience to reduce the risk of personal injury or discomfort. 
As per the headset manufacturer guidelines, we do not allow children under the age of 12 to use VR headsets.

POTENTIAL RISKS:
Our priority is for all guests to enjoy the experience in a safe environment. Below is a list of potential issues that you may be affected by when using the VR experience which we cannot eliminate the risk of entirely. Please read them carefully and consider how they may affect you before acknowledging this Disclaimer.
Discomfort: eye strain; blurred, altered or double vision; motion sickness; nausea; loss of awareness; dizziness; light-headedness; drowsiness; impaired balance or hand-eye coordination; disorientation 
Hearing damage: listening to sound at high volume in the headphones can cause irreparable damage to your hearing. There is a volume control feature to reduce the risk of hearing damage 
Seizures: triggered by flickering screens and flashing images or patterns which may occur while experiencing the VR 
Interference with Medical Devices: the VR equipment may affect the operation of some medical devices such as cardiac pacemakers or other implanted medical devices 
Pre-existing Health Issues: the VR equipment (including the headsets and rumble chairs) and content may affect those with pre-existing medical (such as a heart ailment), mental health conditions (such as anxiety or post-traumatic stress disorder), or aggravate physical injuries (such as back or neck conditions) 
Pregnancy: Use of the VR experience may adversely affect pregnant women 
Immersion: It is possible to feel claustrophobia, panic or other phobias when using the VR equipment 
We recommend that you do NOT participate in the VR experience when tired, ill, under the influence of alcohol or drugs, hung over, in pain, or feel stressed or anxious in any way as these factors can increase your risk of potential issues. 
Please stop using the VR equipment immediately if you feel any discomfort whatsoever.

You must always act responsibly and sensibly. You must follow any safety warnings or instructions displayed or given to you by a member of staff. We are not qualified to express an opinion that you are fit to safely participate in the VR experience.
