Experienced Senior Team and Board
Simon has over 25 years’ experience in the commodities business. Simon previously sat on the Management Board of Trafigura, taking responsibility for the Group’s global Metals & Minerals business. Simon is now a tech entrepreneur and CEO of TradeCloud. Using his commodity and tech experience, Simon is well placed to advise the team on key business decisions.
Manoli has spent 20 years managing operating mines and mineral exploration projects in Africa and South America. He has also acted as CEO of a publicly listed mining company, as well as founding a number of small fast-growth technology companies operating in the mining, energy and renewables space.
Jan has over 25 years’ experience executing and leading on the commercial, product, technical and operations side for technology and energy start-ups, scale-ups and large corporates (including 13 years at ABB). He has most recently served at C-Level (CPO, CRO, COO) for technology scale-ups in the energy sustainability and blockchain arenas, helping these businesses set up and build out their sales, product and operations areas and prepare for scaling.
Jansen Van Rensburg is a Chartered Electrical Engineer with a BSc degree in computer science. He has more than 35 years’ electrical experience and 10 years experience in ICT, including operating MV electrical networks and ICT systems at large mining companies, from Goldfields to Endeavour Mining. He has built and operated power control systems, with a track record of identifying and implementing electrical cost savings.
Edward’s is an experienced mining executive who began his career as a qualified metallurgical engineer and retired as CEO of a FTSE 100 Mining Company. Edward also held the roles of Deputy Chairman and Senior Independent Non-Executive Director at Centamin, Non-Executive Director (and Chairman from June 2007 to April 2012) of the LSE listed Talvivaara plc, Non-Executive Director of Furuya Metals Co. Ltd. Japan and Non-Executive director of Aquarius Platinum Ltd. Edward is also a Fellow of the Institute of Directors (UK).
HIGHLY SKILLED TECHNICAL TEAM
Julian has over 25 years’ of experience in IT, data analysis and display. He has developed solutions for Boots Plc and Marks & Spencer Plc, including the acquisition, governance, visualisation, relevance, context, of large data to achieve understanding and data-driven solutions.
Gert has a NHD in Electricity and has16 years’ experience on Electrical Systems including MV electrical networks and 28 years’ experience in instrumentation, control and project management at a variety of Mining Companies and Factories. Gert specialises in construction and implementation of electrical systems.
Mengran holds an MSc in Computer Science Engineering from the University of Birmingham. With over three years experience, Mengran specialises in software development, Azure cloud service management and data safety, ensuring secure, scalable, and efficient data-driven solutions in her role at our company.
Richard joined the VV Ventures team after a successful career as a logistic specialist. Having completed an intensive retraining course to pursue his interest in software engineering, Richard now has two years of experience as a software developer. Richard has expertise in a range of languages including JavaScript, HTML5 and CSS3, and is currently working on our customer facing products, including our latest Advanced Analytics and corporate dashboarding.
Robert has a BSC and MSC in Software Engineering and Artificial Intelligence. Projects at university included work in facial recognition and image/object recognition with the use of machine learning. With two years of experience, Robert has expertise in many programming languages that include Python, C/C++, C#, HTML , JavaScript CSS. Current work includes web development and dashboard production.
Valeria joined VoltVIsion with more than five years of marketing experience across the EMEA and LATAM markets. She has a proven track record of strengthening brand image and building lasting customer relationships across multiple channels. She has experience in connecting data, strategy, and storytelling to drive business growth, translating complex solutions into clear narratives.
