Blizzard Entertainment has been on a pseudo-apology tour since the controversial announcement and release of Diablo Immortal in 2022 and the decision to make Overwatch 2 a “sequel” of sorts in 2023 (which was reverted earlier this year). However, Blizzard seems to be back on its A-game with the rebranding of Overwatch, the new World of Warcraft: Midnight expansion, and the upcoming Lord of Hatred expansion for Diablo 4, a game that is part of a legendary franchise in gaming history.



After playing the first-person soulslike Valor Mortis, I was left with more questions than I started with: what is happening in this world? Why is Napoleon in my head? Who is William? What makes him special? What is this corruption that touches everyone and everything? I can only guess at the answers. But I know I want to go back. And that feeling is more than enough to keep me interested, and hopeful, in what developer One More Level has up its sleeve. Previewed by Will Borger
