🥇 BANNER Four Seated Liberty Half Dollars (including a rare one) and a Gun.

Four Seated Liberty Half Dollars (including a rare one) and a Gun.
I still find it hard to believe this day.

I found the remains of a pepperbox revolver and 4 seated half dollars all in the same general area of a location I've hunted before. It's pretty shocking because I was to the point where I thought it was hunted out. The wet ground certainly helped. It's a large area active during the late gold rush period so every time I go there I bring back something.

That's the first real gun I've ever found. A mid 1850's Pepperbox is awesome enough. Thanks to the "WHAT IS IT" forum for helping with the ID. Four seated halves in one 3-hour hunt along with the...

Today, my wife and I made the 3+ hour drive to a little town outside of Hershey, PA to meet the family. George, the oldest of 4 of Mr. Albrights’ children, and his wife welcomed us into their home. He shared stories and pictures of his Dad, who passed in 2008. He is beyond thrilled to have this piece of his Dad returned to the family. He did not know it...

Brick Pile Didn’t Disappoint, Civi War Button.

Brick Pile Didn’t Disappoint, Civi War Button.
Decided to check out some different areas and stumbled onto an old pile of bricks. I ended up digging a nice variety of relics, including two utensil handles, part of a spoon, a toe cap, a partial buckle, an oil lamp fragment, harmonica reeds, and the best find of the day—a New York State Civil War button.
I also ran into an old hornets’ nest that’ll make a great addition to my collection.
Can't wait to get back!

🥇 BANNER U.S. Gold!!

U.S. Gold!!
IMG_6307.webp

This involves a long story, so bear with me. The titular find occurred yesterday, but I’m a touch late in posting it because I’m still in shock.

This story starts last weekend really. In the Pacific Northwest, we don’t have the benefit of hundreds of years of history like other parts of the country. But we make do with what we got.

Last Saturday, I found a site that was untouched. My theory is that it was dirt that had been moved from a previous site and sat still since the 1950s or so. I ended up finding 9 silvers the first day...

🥇 BANNER Unbelievable 1909 Barber Half Turned Pop Out Pin Jewlery!

Unbelievable 1909 Barber Half Turned Pop Out Pin Jewlery!
Was having a dud of an outing today. That was until I had a screaming half dollar signal on the Manticore. Solid tight 95 in all directions at 4 bars deep. Right off a hiking path in a popular set of woods that I've never been to with my buddy. I called him over after I had the signal and was calling my target as a half dollar. He agreed with me after swinging his nox over it.

I was SO eager to dig it but he wanted to record the live dig on his phone. We got the whole thing on video! I'll post it to my YouTube channel shortly. I can't edit it and there are a few profanities in it and we...

🥇 BANNER Gold coin up today

Gold coin up today
That's three gold coins in as many years for me.
It's a hot day today but with a nice breeze that makes it tolerable despitenthe temps and so I headed onto some pasture on a farm just outside an old village here in Lancashire England.
Was only swinging the coil for 10-15 minutes and right out of the blue this little blighter popped up. Could just see the rim sticking out the turf and knew instantly i'd struck gold.
The rest of the session was terrible but I really didnt care to be honest.
Came up a solid 18 on the Nox 800 at onky a few inches deep.
Happy hunting folks, keep swinging those...

🥇 BANNER First seated, a cool one

First seated, a cool one
At first I thought it was a trade token because of the shape, then saw the seated and thought play money? With hopes high, upon cleaning revealed a seated dime love token! A 2 for 1 crossed off the bucket list.

Found it at a small intersection street tearout this last week. It was loaded with square nails too, but the seated was the only good find I made there. It was very shallow not masked.

My first thought is the letter(s) between the K & D is 2 "L" but I'm not sure. Could also be 2 I, U, or just symbols to seperate KD. Any insight?[ATTACH type="full"...
