Full-timers since 2003, we’re a couple of “Do-It-Ourself” RVers sharing tips on RV operation, maintenance, repair, and travel. We’ve handled most of our own RV maintenance over the course of two decades spent exploring North America (and international RVing, too)!

These are The RVgeeks… John on the left, and Peter on the right
While we’re not RV technicians, we’re very mechanically inclined and have learned a lot about RV systems over the years. We handle most of our own minor service, repair and upgrade work on our 2005 43′ Newmar Mountain Aire diesel pusher. We also maintained our 2002 39′ Fleetwood Bounder Diesel during our first 2 years on the road.
We hope our experiences can help other RVers go DIY, all while saving time & money… and experiencing the satisfaction of a job well done.
We don’t pretend to be experts on any particular RV topic, and mostly know about maintaining our own rig. But lots of things are the same on RVs in general, and diesel pushers in particular. Consult with a professional technician if you’re unsure about working on your RV.
Safe Travels!

In 2019, they made the big leap to broadcast television as co-hosts and Co-Executive Producers of the new TV series The RVers. Look for John & Peter on The Discovery Channel, PBS, iTunes/AppleTV, Amazon Video, Fun Roads TV, Google Play, the Microsoft Store, and YouTubeTV. The RVers is also available internationally on the Wild Pursuit Network in Canada, and iTunes in English-speaking countries such as Canada, the U.K. and Australia.

I am interested in your complete package. Could you possibly deliver it to my home in Florida? Naturally, I would pay all expenses. If not, how long could I keep it up there until I could pick it up?

I am interested in the 19MKS if you decide to sell it separately. I have been looking for one for retirement.

hello guys!!
I’m currently developing a mobile sauna project in Peru, at around 3,000 meters above sea level, and I’d really appreciate your guidance.
One of my main concerns is related to trailer and towing specifications. In many cases here in Peru, it’s quite difficult to find reliable information about tongue weight (hitch weight) for pickup trucks. This makes it challenging to properly apply the recommended 10–15% rule for trailer balance and safety.
I’m worried that I might invest in a vehicle that does not have the appropriate tongue weight capacity, which could lead to safety issues or a poor setup for my project.
I’d really value your advice on:
How to approach this in markets where specifications are unclear What safe assumptions or design strategies I can use Any recommendations for vehicle and trailer compatibility in this kind of setup (planing to tow 2-2.5 tn)
I would also be very interested in arranging an online consultation with you, if that’s something you offer.
Thank you in advance — I really appreciate your time and expertise.
Best regards, Alejandro

Hello 'RV Geeks'. Hoping for your insight on an extended warranty. New RVers here, just purchased a new 2025 Leisure Travel Van Wonder. The dealer is giving us the hard sell on an extended warranty. There is a 1 year LTV warranty on the coach and a 3 year warranty on the Ford chassis. Dealer says a warranty will cost $2k more (vs $4358 now for a 3 yr extended warranty) if we buy after delivery. Does your experience bear out this claim or are there some affordable options out there? Any insight or suggestions would be most appreciated! Thank you!

Hi @Susan... first (if you haven't already), check out our post on the topic: Extended RV Warranties: What Do They Cover & Are They Worth The Investment?
You can also compare the price your dealer is quoting you against a place like Wholesale Warranties to see if that's true. Generally, dealers ARE able to offer lower pricing on extended warranties than you can get retail, but not always.
And, of course, the ultimate question is whether or not YOU think it's worth it. Because we're very handy and actually PREFER doing most repair work ourselves, we don't generally go for extended warranties (and with the three RVs we've had over the past 23+ years, we haven't regretted that... but we also haven't had any major failures to deal with). But you have to do what you think is best for YOU. If you're not handy, and/or always bring your RVs in for service/repair and DON'T do much yourself, then an extended warranty CAN be a savings.
