SEO Services – Optimization Boost

Search Engine Optimization BoostWe take the website you have and supercharge your results!

Better visibility in search results. Faster load times. Higher conversion rates. A stronger technical foundation built for how Google and AI-driven search engines actually evaluate websites today.

Our Optimization Boost is a comprehensive approach to improving what you already have. Rather than starting from scratch, we identify what’s holding your site back, prioritize the changes that will move the needle, and implement them with full transparency and clear reporting.

Every business is different. Your Optimization Boost is tailored to your specific needs. Some sites need extensive technical work; others just need sharper on-page SEO and better content structure. We’ll tell you exactly what your site needs, what it doesn’t, and why, so you’re never paying for work that won’t make a difference.

SEO Services Available

Search Engine Optimization

The foundation of everything we do. We optimize the elements that search engines and AI systems use to understand, evaluate, and rank your website.

SEO is hands-on, detail-oriented work. We optimize your title tags, meta descriptions, heading structure, image alt text, internal linking, and body content so every page clearly communicates what it’s about and why it matters. On the more technical side, we handle XML and HTML sitemaps, robots.txt configuration, URL structure cleanup, duplicate content resolution, and schema markup so search engines can read your site the way it was meant to be read.

Before any optimization begins, we run a thorough spam and penalty check to make sure there are no existing issues dragging your site down. If we find problems, whether from a previous provider’s shortcuts or simple neglect, we’ll flag them and build a plan to correct them.

Our ongoing monthly SEO work includes:

  • Continued on-page and technical optimization focused on your highest-priority pages
  • Consulting time with our SEO team to discuss strategy and adjust priorities
  • Google Search Console and Google Analytics monitoring to catch issues early and track progress
  • Regular reporting so you always know what was done, what changed, and what’s next

For businesses that depend on local customers, our dedicated local SEO department handles the additional work required to compete in Google’s Map Pack and local results. That’s a different set of ranking factors and requires its own specialized approach, which we cover next.

In plain English: we make sure Google (and increasingly, AI search tools like ChatGPT, Gemini, and Perplexity) can find your site, understand what you offer, and trust you enough to recommend you to searchers.

Best for: Any business that wants to improve its visibility in search results and build a sustainable flow of qualified traffic.

Local SEO

Get found by the customers in your area who are searching for what you offer right now.

If your business serves customers in a specific city or region, local SEO is how you make sure they find you. It’s a different discipline from standard SEO, with its own ranking factors, tools, and strategies. That’s why we have a dedicated local SEO department focused entirely on this work.

The Google Map Pack, the local results that appear at the top of the page when someone searches for a service near them, is driven by your Google Business Profile, your local citations, review signals, and how consistently your business information appears across the internet. Getting all of this right, and keeping it right, is what our local team does.

Our local SEO work includes:

  • Google Business Profile optimization and ongoing management. We set up or optimize your profile, enhance your business description with relevant keywords, add and organize your services, optimize your photos, and post on your behalf through Google Posts. We manage this actively, not as a set-it-and-forget-it task.
  • Citation building and cleanup. We use specialized local search marketing software to scan the internet for every mention of your business, then ensure your name, address, and phone number (NAP) are formatted consistently everywhere. We expand your presence by adding your business to authoritative local directories and secure your profile data against bad actors who might edit your listings.
  • Bing Local, Yelp, and Apple Maps setup. Google isn’t the only place customers search. We make sure your business is properly listed and optimized across all the platforms your customers actually use.
  • Ongoing local monitoring. Our team checks your listings multiple times per week, watching for NAP inconsistencies, pin location accuracy, incorrect third-party edits, and local algorithm updates that could affect your visibility. When something changes, we catch it fast.
  • Localized landing pages. For businesses that serve multiple locations, we design location-specific pages with unique, non-duplicated content tailored to each market. These pages help search engines understand exactly where you operate and what you offer in each area, and they give local customers a relevant page to land on.

Not every business needs local SEO. If you sell products or services nationally or online and your customers don’t care where you’re physically located, we’ll tell you that upfront. But if your business depends on customers in your area finding you when they search, local SEO isn’t optional. It’s essential.

Best for: Law firms, medical practices, trades companies, retailers, restaurants, and any business that depends on customers finding them in a specific geographic area.

AI Search Optimization (AKA: AI SEO, AIO, AEO, GEO)

Make sure your business shows up when AI tools answer questions, recommend services, and summarize options.

Search is changing. Google’s AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Perplexity, and other AI-powered tools are increasingly answering questions directly, pulling information from websites they consider structured, trustworthy, and authoritative. If your site isn’t built to communicate clearly with these systems, you’re invisible in a growing share of searches.

We help your website speak the language AI understands. That starts with advanced schema markup and structured data, the code that tells search engines and AI systems exactly what your business does, where you’re located, what services you offer, and how your content relates to broader topics. We build and maintain this structured layer so your site isn’t just indexed, but genuinely understood.

Our AI search optimization also includes:

  • Entity optimization. We help search engines connect your business to the topics, services, and locations you want to be known for. This strengthens your presence in knowledge panels, AI-generated answers, and voice search results.
  • Content structuring for AI citation. AI tools cite sources that present information clearly and authoritatively. We structure your content so it’s more likely to be pulled into AI-generated answers for queries relevant to your business.
  • Ongoing monitoring. We track how your business appears in AI search results and adjust strategy as these platforms evolve.

For businesses that want the most advanced implementation available, we offer setup and ongoing management through WordLift, a premium semantic SEO platform that creates a bespoke Knowledge Graph for your website. WordLift uses AI to analyze your content, identify entities, and automatically generate the structured data that puts your site ahead of competitors still relying on traditional SEO alone. It’s particularly powerful for e-commerce businesses, where a Product Knowledge Graph can make your inventory more discoverable across Google Shopping, AI assistants, and rich search results.

WordLift isn’t required for every business, and we’ll be honest about whether it’s the right investment for your situation. But for those who want to be at the leading edge of AI-driven search, it’s the best tool we’ve found, and we stand behind it.

Best for: Businesses that want to stay visible as search shifts toward AI-generated answers, and those in competitive markets where being cited by AI tools creates a meaningful advantage.

Conversion Optimization

Turn more of your existing visitors into leads and customers.

Getting visitors to your website is only half the equation. If those visitors aren’t calling, filling out a form, or making a purchase, your traffic isn’t working for you.

Conversion optimization is the process of improving the elements on your website that influence action. We look at your page layouts, calls to action, form design, and user flow with a critical eye, then make targeted changes to reduce friction and increase results.

This can include:

  • Designing or refining lead capture forms with minimal fields to reduce drop-off
  • Building mobile-first landing pages that load fast and focus visitors on a single clear action
  • Implementing proper conversion tracking through GA4 and Google Ads so you can see exactly where your leads are coming from
  • Creating location-specific landing pages with localized content, service details, and clear calls to action tailored to each market, coordinated with our local SEO team to maximize Map Pack visibility for each area you serve

We won’t redesign things that are already working. We focus on the changes that will have a measurable impact on your bottom line.

Best for: Businesses getting traffic but not enough inquiries, or those running paid ads and wanting better return on that spend.

Page Speed Optimization

A faster website ranks better, converts better, and keeps visitors around longer.

How fast your website loads matters. Google has confirmed that page speed is a ranking factor, and their Core Web Vitals metrics (which measure loading performance, visual stability, and interactivity) directly influence where your site appears in search results. Beyond rankings, slow pages drive visitors away. Studies consistently show that even a one-second delay in load time increases bounce rates significantly.

Our page speed work targets the most common culprits:

  • Oversized images that haven’t been properly compressed
  • Bloated or render-blocking code and scripts
  • Server configuration issues
  • Plugin conflicts and outdated components

We work toward achieving a 70% or higher rating on Google’s PageSpeed Insights tool, with many sites reaching into the 80s and 90s after optimization.

Not every site needs this work. If your site is already loading quickly and your Core Web Vitals are healthy, we’ll tell you and save your budget for where it matters more. Sometimes, speed optimization uncovers deeper issues, like outdated hosting or theme limitations, that are worth addressing separately. We’ll always let you know what we find and give you clear options.

Best for: Websites with slow load times, poor Core Web Vitals scores, or high bounce rates that could be speed-related.

Sales Funnel Design and Implementation

Guide visitors naturally from their first click to the action you want them to take.

A sales funnel is the path a potential customer takes from their first interaction with your website to the moment they become a lead or make a purchase. If that path is unclear, cluttered, or asks for too much too soon, you’ll lose people along the way.

We design and build sales funnels that match your customer’s actual journey. That means understanding where visitors enter your site (often from a search result or ad), and making sure every step from that entry point leads logically toward your conversion goal, whether that’s a phone call, a form submission, a consultation booking, or a purchase.

In practice, this might include:

  • Building dedicated landing pages for specific campaigns or services
  • Creating location-specific entry points with localized content, coordinated with our local SEO team to strengthen Map Pack visibility
  • Simplifying your site’s navigation so visitors can find what they need without thinking too hard
  • Setting up proper tracking so you know exactly which paths are producing results and which need work

We build funnels that work with your existing site structure whenever possible, so you’re not starting from scratch.

Best for: Businesses running paid ad campaigns, launching new services, or expanding into new geographic markets.

How We Work

We keep the process straightforward and collaborative. No black boxes, no mystery work.

  • Strategy call. It starts with a conversation. We learn about your business, your goals, and what’s been tried before. No pressure, no jargon, just an honest look at where things stand and what’s possible.
  • Audit and prioritization. We dig into your website’s current performance, technical health, content, and competitive position. Then we put together a prioritized plan focused on what will have the greatest impact first. You’ll understand every recommendation and why it matters.
  • Implementation. We get to work. Whether it’s technical SEO, local optimization, speed improvements, or a full redesign, we handle the implementation and keep you informed at every step.
  • Reporting and review. You will have access to a Success Dashboard (for live results anytime) and receive clear monthly reports showing what was done, what changed, and what’s next. We schedule regular review calls so you can ask questions, share feedback, and help steer the strategy as your business evolves. You’ll always know where your investment is going and what it’s producing.

We don’t lock you into long-term contracts. Our services are month-to-month because we believe the results should be what keeps you with us, not a long-term contract.

Is an Optimization Boost Right for You?

This service is built for business owners who:

  • Already have a website, but it’s not generating leads. You invested in a site, maybe even paid for SEO before, but the phone isn’t ringing and the contact forms are quiet. Something isn’t working, and you need someone who can figure out what it is and fix it.
  • Depend on local customers finding you online. Whether you’re a law firm, a medical practice, a trades company, or a retailer, if your business relies on customers in your area, local SEO is critical. Our dedicated local SEO department specializes in getting businesses visible in the Google Map Pack and local search results.
  • Have been burned by other SEO providers. You’ve heard the promises before, maybe even paid for “guaranteed rankings” that never materialized. You’re cautious now, and rightly so. We don’t guarantee rankings because no ethical SEO provider can. What we guarantee is transparent work, clear reporting, and honest communication about what’s realistic for your business and market.
  • Want to understand what’s being done and why. You’re not looking for a black box. You want a partner who explains the strategy, shows you the results, and respects that it’s your business and your money. We treat your budget the way we’d treat our own.
  • Are thinking long-term. SEO done right takes time. If you’re looking for overnight SEO results, we’re probably not the right fit (or you need our paid ad services). But if you’re ready to invest in steady, sustainable growth that compounds over months and years, that’s exactly what we deliver.

If any of this sounds like you, a strategy call is the easiest way to find out if we’re a good match. It’s free, it’s with Ross directly, and there’s zero pressure.

Frequently Asked SEO Questions

How long before I see results from SEO?

It depends on your starting point, your market, and how competitive your target keywords are. Most clients begin to see measurable improvements within three to six months, with results continuing to build from there. We’ll set realistic expectations based on your specific situation during our strategy call, and our monthly reporting (and Success Dashboard) will show you exactly how things are progressing.

What's the difference between SEO and paid ads?

SEO improves your website’s visibility in organic (unpaid) search results. Paid ads (like Google Ads) put you at the top of the page immediately, but only for as long as you’re paying. Most businesses benefit from a combination of both. SEO builds long-term, sustainable visibility, while paid ads can fill gaps and drive immediate traffic for specific campaigns or services. We can help with both.

What's the difference between local SEO and regular SEO?

Regular (organic) SEO focuses on improving your website’s visibility in standard search results. Local SEO focuses specifically on the Google Map Pack and location-based results that appear when someone searches for a service in a specific area. They use different ranking factors and require different strategies. Many businesses need both. If your customers are primarily local, the Map Pack is often where the highest-intent searchers look first, and that’s where our local SEO department focuses.

Do I need a full website redesign to improve my rankings?

Not necessarily. Many sites just need targeted optimization, better content structure, and technical cleanup to see significant improvement. We’ll always recommend the most efficient path to results. If your current site is fundamentally solid, we’ll work with what you have. A redesign only comes into the conversation when the existing platform or design is genuinely holding you back. Here is more information on our website design services.

What does your SEO process include?

Ideally you have already completed some Recon & Strategy with us, which greatly informs our strategy. Either way, we handle the technical foundations (site structure, speed, mobile performance, schema markup), on-page optimization (title tags, meta descriptions, content, internal linking), and ongoing work to build authority and track results. For businesses that serve a local market, our dedicated local SEO department adds a full layer of work on top of this, including Google Business Profile management, citation building, and local listing monitoring. Every plan is customized. You’ll always know what we’re working on and why.

How is AI changing search, and what does that mean for my website?

AI-powered tools like Google’s AI Overviews, ChatGPT, and Perplexity are increasingly answering search queries directly, often without the user clicking through to a website. To stay visible, your site needs to be structured in a way these AI systems can understand and trust. We build that into our optimization work through content expansion (where needed), schema markup, structured data, and entity optimization, so your business shows up whether someone is using traditional search or an AI assistant.

Are there long-term contracts?

No. We begin with a 3-month requirement to allow us to do what is necessary to obtain rankings. After that, all of our services are month-to-month. We believe the results should be what keeps you working with us, not a contract. You can adjust or stop services at any time.

How much does an Optimization Boost cost?

It depends on what your site needs. We offer tiered packages starting at $1,445 per month, and we’ll recommend the level that makes sense for your goals and budget. You can see our current packages on our pricing page, or book a strategy call to discuss what’s right for your business.

SEO Testimonials

“When we started, we had no reviews or rankings on Google. Since using StepForth, we have rocketed up the rankings in Google and we’re now first on different search engines

It’s been a fantastic relationship for us. One of the things that have been really important to us with StepForth, is communication. They communicate with us on a monthly basis and advise us what we need to do to enhance our position and how we can assist. They don’t just do that though. They also do work behind the scenes and advise us what they’ve done and how it’s going to assist us.

Something that’s been important for us as well is to have a long term relationship with them…so that we can ensure that our rankings will continue to drive up the boards and stay in the positions that we want to be in overall. The relationship that we’ve had with StepForth has been fantastic for our business, and we really appreciate the insight and the advice that they’ve provided us.”

“Hi, I’m Dr Dale McDonald, I’m the clinical director of Elite Sport Performance, Calgary PRP Clinic and the Knee Clinic, which is Alberta’s only private knee clinic. I’ve been in practice for 18 years and over that time have wasted scads of money on magazine ads and newspaper ads and basically any number of different ways to throw money needlessly away on advertising that, quite frankly, didn’t work. We’ve ascribed to the notion of just simply doing a good job clinically in allowing that to generate referrals both from physicians as well as from existing patients.

And thankfully, that’s been a very reliable and robust way to grow a practice. But with the advent of our Knee Clinic in 2010, we began to look for ways to improve our scope of reach across the country. And so naturally, we turned to search engine optimization. I dabbled with a couple of different search engine optimization providers and got burned pretty badly on three separate occasions. Finally, and with great trepidation, I was introduced to Ross Dunn from StepForth, and all of my nervousness began to dissipate the more I spoke with him. He clearly is a guy who knows exactly what he’s doing, and his company is very professional. I’ve had nothing but good success with them. And I can share with you that in the first six months after having started with Ross, our return on investment was 35 to 1. That actually is far superior to what we were getting. Not only in terms of existing physician referrals, but also our existing patient referrals combined, we began to see more new patients just from our actual, SEO work with Ross. And now here we are, years later. The relationship is going beautifully well, and I believe we’re still (I checked just the other day) at a 17 to 1 return on investment for the money that we spend. So, I use that as a pretty clear indication that I’m actually, being helped by the right people and that my money is being put to very, very good use. I look forward to many more years to come and hopefully this information is of some use to somebody else. Thank you.”

– Dr. Dale Macdonald, Clinical Director

“My name is Greg Estherhai, and I’m the owner of Foresite Sports. We are an insurance broker that specializes in the niche insurance space. We have a few different brands each with a website, that we rely heavily on online marketing for those sites. We have actually been working with StepForth consistently for the last 15 plus years and have been very happy. And it’s my pleasure to be able to give a, really wholehearted review of StepForth and their services.

We started back in the early 2000s, working with Ross and Scott and their team there at StepForth and our goal at the time was, to have the very first website that we had put together to simply have it ranked well organically within Google and Bing. And, that was our focus at the outset, and we simply had some keywords that we wanted to perform well for and went to them on that, and we were very happy. Right at the beginning of our relationship, they were able to sort of educate us and give us pointers and obviously a direction and a plan for how we could do that. And we were very successful in doing that with that very first website that we put together. We have since put up. I’d say three or four other websites since then and worked with StepForth on those now each of those brands targeting different terms based on the insurance product that we’re selling. And we’ve just been very happy. We love the communication, the customer service that we get every time we’re working with StepForth. They produce. The results are not immediate. Anybody who tells you that they will be immediate, they’re not telling you the truth. But StepForth sticks with it and helps us. And like I said, um has been great and just being able to set our expectations, provide us with a plan and a strategy to achieve our goals, which has been awesome. So definitely a wholehearted recommendation for StepForth and their team. Thanks, guys, for all the great work all these years.”

– Greg Esterhai, Owner, Foresite Sports Inc.

Thorough, helpful, professional, and the level of their work couldn’t be higher. They always help me get what I want sorted out and turned into reality. .. and always in a timely way.

They cover the range of what is needed today to build an effective Internet business presence. Many thanks to both of you. I look forward to recommending you to others and to doing more work with you.

- Michael Linehan

I highly recommend Ross Dunn and Stepforth for SEO services and management of PPC campaigns.

Recently, we upgraded our website, many necessary changes we made had unintended negative impacts on our search traffic.

I particularly appreciated how quickly Ross responded to my situation. He not only sent us a list of corrections to implement, but patiently answered my never ending questions.

I have worked with Stepforth off and on for many years and always found them all to be thorough and to the point.
