Pistols
Can I convert my 9mm SIG to .357 SIG or .40SW.
Centerfire Kits (9mm,.357 & .40) are intended for use on .22 Classic Framed Pistols. SIG SAUER does not guarantee or advocate the use of .40/.357 kits on standard centerfire 9mm frames.
How do I identify if my P229 is a 229-1 Version?
Identifying unique characteristics of a 229-1:
- Viewing from the top down, the top surface of the barrel chamber (the extended rectangular section at the rear of a barrel), is rectangle-shaped. A legacy slide chamber will have the shape of a trapezoid.
- A full-length external extractor. Legacy slides will have either an internal extractor or a short external extractor. A full-length external extractor will measure greater than 1 inch.
- Viewing from the top down, there is a hole in the top of the slide with a roll-pin installed in the hole. A legacy slide does not have a hole in the top of the slide.
Should I lubricate my pistol?
YES! All firearms require lubrication. Please follow your owner’s manual for instructions on proper lubrication. SIG SAUER recommends that you use lubricants specifically designed for firearms applications.
What kind of ammo can I shoot from my SIG SAUER pistol?
SIG SAUER recommends the use of only newly manufactured ammunition meeting SAAMI (www.saami.org) and/ or NATO specifications.
Can my pistol be converted to DAK?
If your pistol was made before 2005 it may not be able to be converted. Call our customer service group WITH THE SERIAL NUMBER OF THE GUN and we’ll confirm if the DAK conversion is available for your pistol.
How often should I service my pistol?
We recommend a service interval of once per year or every 5,000 rounds which ever comes first. This keeps your pistol in top operational readiness and is the same standard we recommend to all our law enforcement customers. Our custom shop offers a variety of service plans for both new and pre-owned pistols. Talk with one of our customer service group reps. today to help decide which service plan works best for you.
What is SAAMI and SAAMI-compliant ammunition?
SAAMI = Sporting Arms and Ammunitions Manufacturers Institute. For information on their regulations or to see if your ammunition selection is SAAMI compliant, please go to http://www.saami.org.
Can I use reloaded or hand-loaded ammo?
No. The use of any ammunition that is not an American factory loaded, SAAMI approved round could be dangerous and will void your warranty.
My 938/238 hammer will drop from the half-cocked position with the safety on. Is this a problem?
Can I add after-market parts to my gun?
Adding after-market parts or accessories to your pistol could be unsafe, result in failure and may void your warranty. Please contact Customer Service before adding any non-OEM part or accessory to your gun.
Why doesn’t the slide on my pistol lock back on the last round?
Lock back issues can be due to a variety of reasons. I have listed a few for you to check*: Be sure the inside of the magazines are thoroughly cleaned of any grease or lubricant. Be sure the gun has been cleaned and has plenty of lubrication on the slide/frame rails, outside of barrel and the hammer/spring assy. Some guns benefit from a break-in period – give the gun a few hundred rounds to break in and work smoothly. Try different ammunition. If the lower powered ammo is used in a new gun, it may cause feeding, extraction and lock back issues until the springs are broken in. Do all the magazines have the same result? Check your hold to be sure your thumb is not contacting the slide catch lever. A weak hold (“limp wristing”) can result in cycle / lock-back issues Does the slide lock back manually with an empty mag inserted? If so, it is most likely due to one of the tips above. *NOTE: The slide will not lock back on the last round on the Classic .22LR pistols and Conversion Kits.
Can the Short Reset Trigger System (SRT) be installed in my gun? Can I buy the parts?
The SRT will install in any DA/SA Classic Series Pistol (P220, P225, P226, P228, P229, and P239). The gun must be sent in to the factory for this service to ensure proper function. See our Custom Shop Services for details
Is it safe to dry-fire my pistol?
It is safe to dry-fire our center fire pistols. You would want to use a snap cap or plug if extensive dry-firing is done. Always count your dry-firing in your live fire count to be sure all springs and pins are in top condition. DO NOT intentionally dry-fire any rim fire pistol such as the Mosquito, .22LR conversions or Classic Pistols.
The outside of my barrel and the slide rails on my frame are showing wear – should I be concerned?
No, finish wear on the barrel and frame rails (or anywhere that metal is in contact with metal) is normal and to be expected. Always be sure your pistol is clean and adequately lubricated. For more information on maintaining your pistol please visit the Owners Manuals section.
There is a square-shaped area of Nitron missing from inside the slide of my pistol. Is this a QC issue?
No. This is normal. This area is where a fixture holds the slide during the application of the Nitron. This will NOT affect the function, quality or longevity of the metal, slide, frame or any of their components.
I own a SigPro SP2340 / SP2009 – can I mount a light or laser unit on the gun?
The SP2340/2009 SigPro pistols feature a proprietary accessory rail. In order to attach accessories to the rail you must obtain an adapter to convert the rail to a standard size such as Picatinny. These can be purchased through SureFire: 1 (800) 828-8809
Can I install a shoulder stock on my 556 Pistol?
Attention: attaching a shoulder stock to the P556 constitutes making a rifle having a barrel less than 16” in length, which is subject to the requirements and restrictions of the National Firearms Act (26 U.S.C. Ch. 53). Customers must contact the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives National Firearms Act Branch before assembly for advice on how to proceed under the federal law and regulations. Local authorities should also be contacted to determine if there are any State or municipal ordinances that may restrict this assembly.
Do any of your 1911 models come with an ambi safety?
Most of our 1911 models come with a standard left hand side thumb safety. Two of our models are equipped with an ambi safety – the STX and Blackwater. The Custom Shop does offer an ambi safety installation service for most models.
Can I attach the STL300J Stoplite vertical hand grip to my P556 or P522 pistol or any pistol with the accessory rails built in?
Yes, but it will then be an “any other weapon” which falls under the National Firearms Act and requires a “tax stamp” or “Form 4” from ATF.
I own a P250. Can I purchase a fire control unit for my X-Change kit?
SIG SAUER, Inc does not offer or sell the serialized units separately.
Are there two different recoils springs for my Mosquito pistol?
No, there is only one recoil spring offered for the Mosquito Pistol. Initial production of the pistol noted two different spring weights. Mosquitos are shipped with spare recoil spring as a replacement and is the same as the recoil spring installed in the pistol.
My mosquito pistol seems to have problems ejecting & extracting?
Please try these basic trouble shooting tips before requesting service: *Please make sure the recoil spring is installed correctly. The narrow end of the spring MUST be on the guide rod first…pointing towards the rear of the gun. If it is not, this will cause feeding, extraction and firing issues. *Like many .22 LR’s, Mosquito’s can be sensitive to ammunition used and to cleanliness and lubrication. Be sure your Mosquito is cleaned and lubricated regularly and before the first use. *There is a lubrication port on the right side of the slide for the extractor, be sure you add a drop of lube in this hole every hundred rounds or so. Make sure the gun is very clean. *Some Mosquito’s benefit from a break-in period. *Be sure to use factory recommend ammunition – CCI Mini-Mags. Winchester Super-X, Remington Golden Bullet, Federal High Velocity etc…also usually work well.
I cannot remove the thread cap from my classic line threaded barrel. What do I do?
These barrel threads are a left handed thread.
I am unable to get the slide of my 1911 back on due to the safety plunger lever being raised. What do I do?
Touch on the safety plunger lever with slight finger pressure, which should drop the lever back into its pocket. Do this before attempting to re-assemble with the slide.
Does SIG SAUER make pistols which can be sold in California or Massachusetts?

I have a Hammerli Trailside that needs parts/service. Can I send it to you?
We have not imported the Trailside pistols since 2005. We no longer have access to Hammerli or Trailside parts / accessories. Hammerli has been purchased by Carl Walther GmbH of Germany. SIG SAUER is no longer selling or servicing Hammerli products. Do you have the parts or information on installing a stock or other accessories to my 556 Pistol?

Why were the E2 versions of the P220, P226 & P229 pistols discontinued?
The “E2” specific model pistols were a limited production run. The positive feedback we received in response to their ergonomic grips from our customers was so overwhelming that SIG SAUER, Inc has made them a permanent addition to the basic P220, P226 & P229 lineup.
My SIG SAUER pistol is not accurate. Why? What should I do?
All SIG SAUER production duty/combat pistols are set up to use a “combat” sight picture. This is where the front sight completely covers the bullseye of the target. Using a six o’clock (“pumpkin on a post”) or center mass (“half’n’half”) sight picture will result in low impact. SIG SAUER, Inc sights in all non-sporting and non-target pistols for 2 inch groupings @ 10 yards. If you are still having trouble please contact Customer Service for further help and instruction. Please have your serial number ready. There are also very helpful free Internet sites that cover pistol group analysis.
M17
What are the differences between the M17-Commemorative and P320-M17?
Controls: The most obvious difference is the color of the controls (trigger, slide catch lever, takedown lever, manual safety, magazine catch, extractor pin, slide plate, and sear housing). The commemorative model has coyote tan colored controls, while the P320-M17 comes standard with black controls. The commemorative also uses a tamper-resistant extractor pin, just like the original contract pistols.
Slide markings: The commemorative slide is marked “Sig Sauer M17” and includes the SIG CAGE code (6ZWB1) and part number (13067008).
Barrel markings: The commemorative barrel includes the SIG CAGE code under the caliber engraving.
Corrosive finish: The commemorative incorporates the same phosphate protection on internal parts and critical components as the contracted pistols shipped to the Military. The P320-M17 uses more standard corrosion protection such as DLC and black-passivate coatings.
Serial numbers: Both models will have the “M17” prefix, but the commemorative model will only have four numbers, while the P320-M17 will use six.
Rear sight: The commemorative model uses a one-screw design with orange tritium vials. The P320-M17 uses green tritium vials with a 2-screw design.
Magazines: The commemorative comes standard with 2EA 21rd mags and 1EA 17rd mag. The P320-M17 includes 2EA 17rd mags.
Coin & Card: Each M17-Commemorative will include a limited edition coin and authenticity card with the individual serial number to be redeemed by the purchaser.
Packaging: All commemorative models will ship in the same corrugated cardboard packaging that was used for Military contract shipments. The P320-M17 uses a standard polymer case.
How many M17-Commemorative pistols will be built?
Only 5000 units of the M17-COMMEMORATIVE model will ever be built. Serial numbers will only range from M17-0001 to M17-5000.
Will there be a limited number of P320-M17 pistols built?
No.
I’ve noticed some color variation among the slides and parts. Is that normal?
Yes. The color specification used for the M17 includes a variance of color acceptance. All parts are tested using the most advanced measuring equipment to ensure the colors are within the military requirements. Since parts are finished in separate batches from various vendors, some color disparity is inevitable. The US Military have received and will receive M17’s with the same color variation. Additionally, oil and solvents can give Coyote PVD parts a different appearance, depending on the types used.
How does the sight plate assembly come off of the M17-Commemorative?
The commemorative model uses a one-screw sight plate design that is only accessible from underneath the slide in the rear part of the striker channel.
Are the slides and/or controls finished with Cerakote?
No. All of the steel parts are finished using a process called Physical Vapor Deposition, or PVD. Polymer parts are colored by injecting colored pellets into the plastic mold.
Why do the rear sight tritium orange vials on the M17 Commemorative seem dimmer than the green tritium front?
The orange vials emit a dull appearance by design. The intention was to ensure that the rear vials do not overpower the front to ensure quicker front sight acquisition, as well to ensure that rear dots were not confused with the front under stress.
Can I install a Romeo1 optic on my M17?
Technically, no. Per military requirements, the M17 slide was equipped with a footprint cut to accommodate a DeltaPoint Pro optic. The Romeo1 footprint is smaller, and the mounting holes are too small to fit the necessary M4 screws to mount to the slide. However, the new ROMEO1PRO will be available mid-2019 that will have the correct footprint and mounting hole diameter to fit perfectly on the P320-M17 or any pistol that shares this footprint (new 320 XSeries models, for example).
Will the P320-M17 be offered without a manual safety?
Yes. The non-manual safety model of the P320-M17 should be available by the end of 2018. The commemorative model will NOT be offered without a manual safety.
When was the “X” dropped from XM17?
The XM17 was the “experimental” line of MHS pistols that were submitted for the solicitation. Once the military awards the contract, the “X” is dropped from the model number.

After registering my Legion firearm, how long should it take my commemorative coin and case to ship?
Most Legion registrations are processed within 48 hours (not including weekends). The time-frame that it takes for the case and coin to get to you varies depending on where you live, but generally, they are delivered within 7-10 business days after shipment. We will email you tracking information once the items ship. Generally, the process takes two weeks from start to finish as long as product is in stock.
Is the wear on the frame rails of my Legion pistol normal?
While all firearms will show wear to varying degrees based on a number factors (finish material, lubrication, etc), the most common wear points on the Legion line of SIG SAUER pistols is on the frame rails where the slide and frame meet. Most commonly this will appear as a yellowish color, and can happen within as little as a few initial rounds fired, or even with hand racking the slide. These normal wear markings do not compromise the integrity of the corrosion and rust resistance or the durability of these firearms in any way.
Is the holster wear on my Legion firearm a concern?
Holster wear is very common to all firearms, and the degree to which it happens depends on the type of holster being used and how often you holster the pistol. While holster wear can happen after just a few times in and out of a holster, holsters made from harder materials such as plastic, Kydex, and polymer generally will cause more wear than holsters made of leather, nylon or a lambs’ wool lined option. The latter options (leather, nylon or lined options) tend to be more ideal for shooters with holster wear concerns and for Legion members planning to use their Legion pistol as an every day carry.
I can’t get 15 rounds loaded into my new P229 9mm mags. Do I need new magazines?
Magazines are made to a number of specifications, most of which are based around optimal performance of the firearm. The 15 round 9mm magazines can have very tight springs out of the box, and their overall tolerances are some of the tightest of all of the mags that we use. With natural loading of the magazines, and repetitive compression of these springs, you will see a reduction in resistance getting the full 15 rounds loaded.
Why is the inside of the magwell of my pistol not coated?
The inside of the magwell does not get finished during the PVD process. The frame is actually held from the inside of the magwell while the coating is applied. Early model Legions had a dye in the anodization that makes the inside of the magwell appear to be finished, but it is not.
An accessory has been out of stock for some time. When will it be back in stock?
SIG SAUER is dedicated to regularly having product on hand, especially for Legion members. Some items do go out of stock periodically, especially new and popular items. In many cases we have an option on the website to be notified when a specific product is back in stock. The easiest way to check on back-ordered or out of stock items is to either visit the web store periodically or elect to be notified when an item is back in stock. We are currently working to revamp the Legion exclusive product line with fresh products and consistent availability.
Can I purchase and install the Legion SAO flat trigger in my DA/SA model or vice versa?
No. The flat faced trigger is designed only to work in the SAO models, and likewise, the curved trigger is designed specifically for the DA/SA models.
Is there a Legion specific Caliber X-Change Kit to change my 9mm Legion to a .40 cal or .357 SIG or vice versa?
There are currently no plans at this time to sell Legion specific caliber exchange kits, except for the 9mm only versions of the RX kits equipped with a ROMEO1 red dot sight on a slide cut specifically for the ROMEO. These will be available for both the P229 and P226.
Is SIG SAUER releasing any new Legion models?
SIG SAUER intends to release new versions and models to the Legion line every year. A lot of engineering and development goes into creating the Legion version of a firearm, but we fully intend to increase the frequency that new models launch. Some of the better ways to monitor new releases would be to visit the SIG SAUER website or watch for periodic Legion exclusive emails that SIG SAUER sends to registered Legion members.
Who should I contact for questions or issues regarding my Legion firearm?
Generally, contacting SIG SAUER Customer Service for a warranty issue is the easiest and quickest way to get resolution. They can be reached Monday-Friday from 8am to 5:30pm EST. You may also have a representative that you have worked with specifically in the past. In that case you could certainly reach out to that representative directly for any questions or issues.

Can I register as a Legion member if I purchased a used Legion firearm?
Yes, you can. If you register online, we will create a Legion account for you on our webstore which will give you exclusive access to Legion accessories and promotions. However, if we have already sent a Legion case and commemorative coin for your serial number, we will not send out a second case/coin. You will receive communication from a Legion specialist within a week of registration if you are NOT eligible for a case/coin.
I’ve noticed some color variation among the slides and parts. Is that normal?
Yes. The original Legion pistol slides and frames were finished with a PVD finish in separate batches from various vendors. Some color disparity is inevitable as the slide and frames are different types of material. However, the newest Legion pistols incorporate the new Cerakote Elite finish on the slides and frames which eliminates this inconsistency.
Can I still register my LEGION firearm and receive my 5.11 tactical bag and challenge coin if I am not in the US?
While an active email address will allow technical registration of a LEGION firearm, the complimentary 5.11 bags and coins are only shippable inside the domestic United States.

Can my 5.56 x 45mm NATO shoot .223 Rem ammo?
Yes. A rifle chambered for 5.56 x45mm Nato can safely shoot .223 Rem rounds
Can my 7.62x51 NATO shoot .308 Win ammo?
Yes. Your R716 can safely shoot .308 Win rounds
Are MPX Gen I and Gen II magazines interchangeable?
SIG SAUER does not recommend using Gen I MPX mags in a Gen 2 MPX or vice versa as you may run into functional issues. Please see our explanation and answers to generational differences in the MPX.
I have a Gen I MPX. Will I be able to convert it to other calibers?
Yes, we will offer customers with a Gen I MPX the opportunity to buy a different caliber Gen II upper for the same price as a caliber exchange kit once they are available. We will need to verify your serial number first. You can do so by contacting Customer Service at (603) 610-3000, option 1.

What paperwork do I need, if any, to buy a suppressor?
Federal regulations require an individual to submit a Form 4 to buy from a dealer or distributor. You will also need to check local and state regulations.
What is the cost of the tax?
In addition to the price of the suppressor there is a one-time $200 fee, good for the lifetime of the original transferee, per suppressor purchased.
Where can I go to buy a suppressor?
Any dealer or distributor that has an SOT (special occupational tax) can sell a suppressor. They are also listed as Class III dealers on our Dealer Locator page.

What do the “QD” suppressors come with for mounting?
The QD rifle suppressors come with a muzzle device base (for installation on the barrel), a removable muzzle device, a crush washer for timing the muzzle device, and a tube of Rocksett.
Can I use a 7.62 suppressor QD on a 5.56 host?
Yes. While the aperture diameter is larger, there is also more internal volume, so the DB increase is negligible. You will need the appropriate 762 mount for the threads on the host (generally 1/2 x 28).
All of my 9mm hosts are .5 x 28. Can I use your pistol suppressors on them?
Yes. The SRD 9 comes with two pistons: one in .5 x 28, and one in 13.5 x 1mm lh. Additional conversion pistons are available for the SRD 45, to allow for use on a 9mm, or .40 S&W host.
Can I take apart your suppressors?
All of our pistol caliber suppressors are user serviceable. All of our rifle suppressors are sealed.
Can I shoot .300 blackout through your pistol suppressor?
Some people do shoot sub-sonic only through pistol suppressors, but we do not recommend it, and we will not perform warranty service on a pistol suppressor damaged by a rifle caliber.
Can I shoot .22LR through a rifle suppressor?
No, .22LR can be a very “dirty” shooting cartridge that will foul the internals of a sealed rifle suppressor.
I want to mount a suppressor on my MPX. What do I need?
You’ll need a suppressor with a fixed end cap, or a fixed barrel spacer for the piston, in 13.5 x 1mm lh. A suppressor with a piston should not be used with a fixed barrel, as the added force from the spring tension, under recoil, could damage the suppressor, and the barrel threads.
I have your SRD62TI-QD with the Taperlok™ system, but my barrel has a 90 degree shoulder. Is this a problem?
The SRD QD mounts were designed to work with the taper and a legacy 90 degree shoulder. As long as the mount is properly snugged up to the shoulder and torqued to the proper specs (see owner’s manual), there should be no issue. We’ve done extensive testing using our suppressor devices on 90 degree shoulders.
I have a weapon with your taper on it, but I want to install an accessory that utilizes a 90 degree shoulder. What can I do?
We have both 7.62 and 5.56 taper cap available.
I have a QD mount that came with a small washer piece. Where does it go?
All QD products have a crush washer for timing the muzzle device to the base. The washer should be installed with the smaller side facing forward towards the muzzle device. Once the device is hand tight, you can use a wrench to snug it into position. Example: the single port on the brake may be indexed at a one o’clock/seven o’clock position. By using the crush washer and tightening the brake down, you can index the port to a three o’clock/nine o’clock position.
Can I reuse the crush washer?
No, it is a one-time use item.
I have a P938 with a threaded barrel, but when I thread on my suppressor all the way, it butts against the slide. Is your barrel defective?
The P938 with the threaded barrel was designed with a low profile shoulder. Some suppressor devices may require a longer piston, or a spacer to create an indexing point (not recommended).
I misplaced a baffle (or end cap) on my SRD 22/9/45. Can I buy another one?
No. The baffles and any part that secures the baffles to the suppressor is a controlled item, and can only be replaced or repaired at the factory.
My SRD 9/45 is feeling "laggy" when I shoot. What is the issue?
If the piston assembly hasn’t been cleaned in a while, there may be a buildup internally causing lockup issues. Disassemble the piston assembly and remove any carbon or debris, lightly (a few drops) lubricate, and re-assemble the piston.
My piston assembly will only screw onto the suppressor about half way. What’s the issue?
The piston interlocks with the encapsulator inside the suppressor. If the interlocking surfaces aren’t lined up, the piston will not fully seat on the suppressor. We recommend removing the assembly completely, and then re-installing, making sure the piston is locked into place.
I’ve had an end cap strike on my SRD 762. Can that be repaired? What do you need?
The serialized portion of the suppressor is the base, so any part of the suppressor forward of the base can be cut off, and re-welded. We are able to affect this repair and refinish. If the suppressor is a QD, the mount used when the strike occurred should also be sent in for evaluation.
Does SIG SAUER offer Silencers?
We offer cutting-edge suppressors. “Suppressors are incorrectly referred to as “silencers.” This is a term popularized by the film industry implying that the report (the sound) will be completely silent while using one. The truth is, they reduce the report, muzzle flash, and felt-recoil of a firearm, making shooting more accessible to a wider range of people. They do not make them silent. In most cases when used with subsonic ammunition, a suppressor will achieve ear-safe volume levels.
Electro-optics
What firearms will the Romeo1 mount to without modification or milling to a slide?
The Romeo1 will mount to any SIG SAUER cut dovetail (including P220, P226, P227, P229, P320), 1911 Novak cut dovetails, Glock Standard Frame, Glock MOS, Smith and Wesson M&P, Smith and Wesson CORE, HK P2000 and the CZ 75.
What is the difference between first focal plane and second focal plane?
Second focal plane or rear focal plane is when the reticle is behind the magnification. The reticle image does not change as the magnification level is increased or decreased. First focal plane or front focal plane is when the reticle is in front of the magnification. As the power of magnification increases or decreases the reticle become larger or smaller in relation to the target. The sub tensions in the reticle will always stay the same
How do I register to receive my SBT dial?
There are 2 ways to register for your SBT dial. The first can be done online here. The second can be done by calling the SBT line at 603-610-3000 extension 4411.

What battery does my Electro Optic take?
The Tango4, Tango6, Whiskey3, Whiskey5, Romeo3, Romeo4 and Romeo5 take a CR2032 battery. The Kilo2000 takes a CR2 battery. The Romeo7 takes a AA batteries. The Romeo1 takes a CR1632 battery.
How do I get more travel for long distance shooting?
If you would like more elevation travel for long range shooting, mount your TANGO or WHISKEY riflescope with our Tactical Alpha mount on a Warne brand 20 MOA canted rail.
What is your optics warranty policy?
Why is my red dot not round?
If the red dot on your sight does not look perfectly round or replicates a starburst, the distortion may be the way your eye perceives the dot. This is called astigmatism and most people have a degree of natural astigmatism. Here are a few ways to determine this
- Look at the dot with your non-dominant eye if the dot changes it is most likely caused by astigmatism
- Make sure the brightness settings are not too bright for ambient lighting.
- Photograph the dot using a digital camera or cell phone. Compare the photo with what you are seeing with what your eyes are seeing. If the dot in the picture is round, it is likely you may have a degree of astigmatism.
Why will my red not not hold zero/adjust?
- Check that your mount is pressed forward (towards muzzle) in the picatinny rail lug and torqued to the appropriate spec as outlined in your owner’s manual.
- Verify that the adjustment caps have been removed before adjustment
- (Romeo3) These sights have a mechanical lock screw that will prevent windage/elevation movement on impact. Loosen lock screw prior to adjusting.
- ALL RED DOT SIGHTS SHOULD BE PRESSED FORWARD AGAINST THE PIC RAIL LUG WHILE TORQUING TO THE APPROPRIATE SPEC.
My red dot will not turn off.
- Check the battery and instruction manual of your specific sight. Many of our sights require a button hold for more than 1 second to turn the unit on/off
- Verify that the unit is not in night vision mode by pressing the (+) button a few times to verify that it is not in NV mode and is not seen.

My red dot has a red glare inside
- The objective lens is coated with a material that filters red light, so when you are looking through the optic the dot will not be washed out by red light. If there is excessive light coming from the back (ocular) side of the optic you will see red in the field of view as the coating is “one way” and will reflect light coming in from the back of the optic. This is indicative of all closed red dot sights regardless of manufacturer. There are manufacturing tolerances that will have this in varying degrees. Reduce light coming from behind the optic or wear a hat while shooting.

Why does my red dot appear to be a blurred star burst?
Sometimes the screen protecting the diode becomes dirty. A Q-tip can be used to carefully clean the screen off. Do not use alcohol as this may cause permanent damage to the diode screen.
Where can I find the Reticle Maker webpage for the ECHO1?
At this time, the Reticle Maker is unavailable. Additionally, the ECHO1 is a discontinued product.
With the ECHO1, what is the Fischer Cable used for? Can I purchase separately?

What is the continuous run-time for the ECHO1?
Continuous run-time is between 8-10 hours but may fluctuate in temperatures below 40 degrees. When in the field, attempt to store the unit in a warm pocket or near Hand Warmers
When the ECHO1 is turned on, my battery indicator immediately shows 80%, is this normal?
Yes. Although the battery may show battery drain characteristics, the battery life will stay in the 25% to 70% percentile for an extended period. Battery life on this unit operates similarly to a cell phone battery where the first 20% percentile is exhausted quickly but levels off thereafter.
What is the best way to focus this unit?
- The focus wheel is located at the front of your optic and is used to clarify the graininess of an object.
- The countdown time is dependent upon weather conditions and cannot be manually adjusted by a user. Once the ECHO1 is acclimated with your environmental conditions, the countdown timer will provide uniform countdowns. When the countdown time goes to zero, the countdown will restart and clear the display’s distortion. For best results, steady the ECHO1 on your target for three to five seconds to allow the unit to refresh.
How do I zero the ECHO1?
This optic is a digital reticle and can be moved by using the toggle stick. Once you have moved the reticle to your preferred location, press the toggle stick inwards. Back out to the main menu and go back in the reticle to ensure the corrections have taken effect. The reticle will not be directly centered on the display when windage and elevation adjustments are saved.
Is there an “OFF” switch on the LIMA lasers?
- Only on the LIMA38.

RANGEFINDERS- I have issues ranging trees/animals

- All range finders are dependent on the target’s ability to reflect light back into the range finder’s receiver. Some surfaces known as Lambertian surfaces can diffuse the light coming back to the range finder making ranging less accurate. Since these surfaces cannot be changed, using the range finder in “hyperscan mode” which increases chances of getting a range. Hyperscan mode is utilized when holding the “RANGE” button down. The rangefinder is working at four times per second versus a single click at one time per second.
- At long distances, hyperscan mode or a tripod should be used to ensure that the target is being hit by the laser.
- Test known items and reflective targets to verify performance such as a reflective item at a known distance. Keep in mind that target color can also make a difference. You can test reticle laser alignment by using hyperscan across a stop sign and see if there is a jump before or after the reticle passes over the item.
- Rangefinders will perform differently based on changes in ambient conditions such as bright sunlight or snow, rain or fog, temperature and the reflectivity of the target being ranged. For example, at dusk and dawn your rangefinder may be able to range trees at over 1000 yards but in bright sunlight may only achieve 500 yards. If your KILO will not range at least 400 yards under normal conditions (fog and rain excluded) please contact customer service. Your product may have fallen out of alignment.

Properly setting a diopter will allow you to look through your lenses with ease and give you a clear, sharp image.
To properly set the diopter, follow these steps:
- Look at an object approximately 100 yards away.
- Close your right eye and adjust the center focus wheel (large knob between barrels) until you find the clearest image.
- Open your right eye and close your left eye. Adjust the wheel in front of the eyecup on the right barrel until you find the clearest image. Your diopter is now set.
To make in-field adjustments for clarity, simply adjust the large center focus wheel slightly to find the clearest image.

ZULU 3/5/7/9 - I can’t seem to get a good image through my binoculars when wearing glasses.

ZULU 3/5/7/9 - I have a large dark spot in the middle of my field of view.
It is possible that your interpupillary distance is not set correctly. Try adjusting the binoculars at the bridge (or hinge points) until you see one whole image.
ZULU 3/5/7/9 - I have set my eye relief and diopter correctly, but I am still seeing a “double image” when looking through my lenses.
It is possible that your binoculars are out of collimation or they are not aligned correctly. Contact customer service to have your binoculars inspected.
What is the difference between a FFP(First Focal Plane) and a SFP(Second Focal Plane)? When can I use the sub-tensions on a SFP(Second Focal Plane)?
First focal plane reticles get larger as you increase your magnification. Second Focal Plane or (SFP) scopes will have the same reticle size regardless of magnification levels. On Second Focal Plane(SFP) scopes, sub-tensions can only be used when you are on full magnification.
I am experiencing parallax issues
No scope is parallax free, in order to minimize POA error, the shooter must have a consistent, repeatable shooting position including their eye centered in the exit pupil. With parallax adjustable models, the knob should be set dependent upon the known target distance. Scopes with no parallax adjustment knob is statically set/collimated at 100 yards.
My Reticle will not illuminate
Please ensure the batteries are installed correctly. If a new battery is installed, ensure the outer terminals in the battery compartment are not compressed, bent, or damaged. If so, please contact Customer Service
My scope will not adjust
You should feel noticeable clicks. If the turret is spinning with no faint clicks, check the turret fasteners are tightened properly. There may be an internal adjustment issue which requires an RMA being set up.
My scope will not hold zero, what do you recommend?
First, ensure your rings are pushed forward towards the muzzle of your rifle. If you see rub marks on the bottom of your rings or one-piece mount, this is a sign that the rings are moving under recoil, causing erratic, inconsistent shots and groups. Next, ensure the scope screws are torqued to the specific factory settings. After these steps, reach out to SIG SAUER Optics CS at: 603-610-3000.
Can these scopes be used on SIG Air Rifles?

What scopes have the LevelPlex feature?

What is LevelPlex?
LevelPlex is a digital anti-cant system, ensuring your scope is perfectly level and can be used as an aid in leveling your scope when installing it on your firearm.
How do I turn on/off my LevelPlex?
If your unit has LevelPlex, it should be noted on your scope box and on the scope battery cap. To turn on/off this system, press the battery cap inwards towards the center of the unit. You should feel a click. If turning on, look through the scope and tilt it from side to side. Two triangles on the left and right will illuminate and should disappear when turning off the system.All TANGO6 1-6 scopes will not have Levelplex.
My LevelPlex lights are too dim/bright. How can I adjust them?
The LevelPlex system has two sensitivity settings and three brightness levels for each setting.To change the settings, place the reticle illumination dial in the off position. Press and hold the LevelPlex button down for approximately three seconds. Do not let go. After approximately three seconds, the system will start to cycle through the settings. Each setting will display for approximately three seconds. Once you reach your desired setting, simply release the LevelPlex button.
WHISKEY5 - What is the use for the circular black tool inside the box?
Female end of the circular adjustment tool: This end allows you to adjust your total elevation travel in a specific direction. While this is very beneficial, you are adding travel in one direction at the expense of the other.
WHISKEY5 - How do I power on LevelPlex?
LevelPlex is activated by pressing the LevelPlex insignia inwards on the battery cap. Upon pushing, you will see two triangles illuminate at your 3 and 9 o’clock positions.
Tango4/6 - My horseshoe reticle is not bright enough.
There are multiple factors that can contribute to reticle brightness. The battery could be low or too much ambient light may be present. The design of these reticles are physically etched into the glass inside the optic and may appear to wash out in very bright environments.
My reticle brightness fades in the lower left corner of my scope(Tango4, Tango6 w/DEV-L Reticle)
This is specific to TANGO Models with DEV-L reticles. This is an unavoidable effect due to the scope design with a glass etched reticle. Most “Christmas Tree” or DEV-L reticles throughout the industry are not illuminated on the holdovers.
What are my sub tensions in my Tango4/6 1-4/6 scope?
The numbered horizontal holdover lines represents a width of 18” at that specified range. For example, you are shooting a common IPSC Target with a standard 18-20” width, if your holdover line labeled 3 fits the width of the target, the target is 300 yards away.For more specific sub tensions please contact customer service at 603-610-3000 or [email protected]
What distance should I zero my BDC reticle?
The reticle is designed to be zeroed at 100 yards.
How accurate are the holdovers?
These holdovers are rough estimates. There are many factors that determine the ballistics of a bullet in flight. Best practice is that an individual know the drop of their bullet and not rely solely on the holdovers. Currently the only holdovers we provide are for 7.62/5.56, and 300BLK.

I have a rail with MOA built into it. Will that affect the accuracy of the SBT?
No. The SBT is based off your zero and the drop of the round thereafter. You can even remove your canted mount, re-zero and the SBT will still work.
My average temperature varies from 90 degrees in the summer to 30 degrees in the winter. How much effect does this have on the accuracy of the SBT?
This all depends on the ballistics of the round you are shooting. A 300 Win Mag will see less than an inch POI change at 400 yards with a 60 degree temperature swing while a standard 223 Rem will see more than an inch POI change at the same distance and temperature swing.
Do I zero my scope first? If so what is the best zero distance?
Sight-in/zero your scope before you install the SBT. The best sight-in/zero distance for most centerfire cartridges is 100 yards because it eliminates environmental factors when shooting at different elevations.
If I zero my scope at 200 or 300 yards will I get more range out of my SBT?
Not necessarily. When sighting-in your scope at longer distances, you are required to use more elevation adjustment due to the drop of your round. This takes away from your overall available travel for dialing to larger distances. Even though the SBT may be calculated for those larger distances, that doesn’t mean you will have the travel to get there.
Can the SBT be used for a different round than what it was calculated for?
No. SBT’s are intended for one specific bullet. Ballistic coefficient, muzzle velocity, and weight are the big three factors that will drastically change the trajectory of a round.

BRAVO 3,4,5 - What is the optimal zero distance for the Bravo 3/5?
The reticle is designed to be zeroed at 100 yards.
BRAVO 3,4,5 - What are my reticle subtensions?
Both the Bravo3 and Bravo5 have BDC reticles for 5.56/7.62 and 300 Blackout.
Does the Oscar3 have variable magnification?
Yes. The Oscar3 can be used with 10X magnification or 20X magnification.
Why is the Oscar3 slow to track other objects?
When moving to track another object make sure the SIG Optic Stabilizer is in the OFF position. Turn the SIG Optic Stabilizer back ON when you have acquired and adjusted to the object you wish to look at.

I can’t get the display to focus.
You need to adjust the diopter ring to your vision. Rotate the eyecup / diopter ring in either direction until the display comes into sharp focus.
I can’t seem to range very far past trees or animals.

My battery drains too fast.
Most rangefinders will provide over 4000 individual range calculations using a fresh CR2 primary lithium battery. Your KILO exceeds this specification. When heavily using SCAN mode the battery may appear to drain faster since your KILO is ranging 4x per second in HyperScan mode. This is normal operation but you should keep a spare CR2 battery when heading out to remote locations.
My ballistic solution in the HUD and displayed in the KILO is always off a few inches..
For accurate ballistic solutions make sure you have updated the temperature and altitude within the App to your current location, you have the correct bullet caliber (diameter) and weight selected, your zero distance is correct and that your muzzle velocity is correct. Using the MV Calibration routine provides the most accurate MV and will improve the accuracy of the ballistic calculator. It is always best to use the MV Calibration routine at the farthest distance you intend to shoot. Calibrating at 500 yards will yield a better MV than calibrating at 200 yards.
I cannot get my smartphone to connect to my BDX rangefinder or riflescope.
Try the following: (1) turn Bluetooth OFF, then back ON on your phone, (2) remove the batteries from your scope and rangefinder and reinstall, and / or (3) close the BDX App and relaunch it.
On the PAIRING page I cannot see any devices listed below the KILO or SIERRA icons.
Press “Scan for Devices” in the upper right hand side of the screen. Any active devices that are powered on will show up in white below the icons.
I seem to be off by several inches at each target range, i.e. at 300, 400 and 500 yards.
You likely need to adjust your muzzle velocity by either chronographing your rifle or using the MV calibration tool built into the BDX App. The MV calibration can be done by clicking on the target icon located next to the MV on the RANGEFINDER page or in the reticle image on the SIGHTS page.
I have a warning that I need to update my firmware. What do I do?
When you PAIR with a rangefinder or sight, you may have a mandatory firmware update. Go to the RANGEFINDER page or SIGHTS page and you will be prompted to update your firmware. Make sure your KILO or SIERRA is turned on before pressing the UPGRADE button on your App. If for any reason the firmware update doesn’t complete you can close the App, go back into the RANGEFINDER or SIGHTS page and restart the update.
My blue LED indicator turned off on my SIERRA3 riflescope.
Check to make sure the riflescope has good batteries and is turned on (you should see an illuminated reticle). Launch the BDX App and check on the SIGHTS page to make sure the ballistic reticle is turned OFF. Your SIERRA3 should be paired and bonded with a BDX KILO for the blue LED indicator on the power selector ring to be turned on. Also, if you enabled battery saver mode in the BDX App the blue PSR LED indicator will shut off when the batteries drop below 25% capacity.
My blue LED indicator on my power selector ring is flashing.
This is typical after turning on for the first time. The slow blink means it is advertising its Bluetooth ID for pairing to the BDX App or a KILO. The LED is solid when paired and bonded with an active KILO; the KILO must be in ABU mode and the ballistic reticle must be turned OFF. When a new ballistic holdover value is calculated and passed to the SIERRA the blue PSR indicator will flash quickly to confirm it received the solution and then return to solid. If you exceed the maximum range on the Bluetooth modules on your paired and bonded KILO the blue PSR indicator will return to slow flashing.
I see PIN76 in my KILO.
You are prompted to enter a 2-digit PIN code when pairing with a KILO using the BDX App. Enter “76” in this case into your phone and hit enter. A dialog pop-up box at the bottom of the App screen will confirm that this PIN code is correct and your KILO will be formally paired and authenticated to your phone.
When using AB External on my KILO I can no longer see the rangefinder information on the HUD in the BDX App.
If your KILO and a Kestrel are actively paired (sending / receiving information) the BDX App cannot be connected and paired to your KILO at the same time.
My KILO is set to AB External but is not displaying holdover information.
To display a complete ballistic solution your KILO must be actively paired with a Kestrel. No holdover information is displayed unless the Kestrel and KILO are both on and actively paired.
The rangefinder HUD in the BDX App is sluggish when using my KILO in AB External mode (Kestrel is not paired to the KILO)
AB External mode on your KILO was designed to be used directly with a Kestrel with AB Elite on board. This communications protocol is relatively slow and does not respond quickly as compared to using AB Ultralight. AB Ultralight resides on your KILO and is much faster for calculating ballistic solutions out to 800 yards.
My KILO and Kestrel are paired but I am not getting anything but zero’s for elevation and wind holds.
You need to set up at least one custom bullet profile on your Kestrel. See the Kestrel instructions for setting up a bullet profile.
I have my KILO in ABU mode and I have one bullet profile configured but I am still getting 0.00 displayed for wind and elevation holds in the BDX HUD and in the KILO.
It is possible that your AB license in the KILO was not provisioned. Please call Sig Sauer customer service – we can help you unlock your KILO AB License.
Why are dots illuminated on both sides in my SIERRA for wind holds?
Wind holds can be symmetrical (both sides) or directional (one side). You can configure this setting in the BDX App – SIGHTS menu – Settings. Set the wind holds to symmetrical if you just want a standard cross wind setting but are not sure which way the wind might be heading.

What type of ammo can I shoot out of my air rifle and pistol?
Air pistols can shoot lead and alloy pellets. You can purchase SIG SAUER pellets here. Do not shoot anything higher than 10 grain. Optimally, 6-8 grain pellets are the best. We have found that some Crosman pellets specifically tend to sit loosely in the magazines. We suggest trying multiple ammo types for best results. Air rifles can fire both lead and alloy pellets too.
Do I need to use a seating tool with the supplied magazines?
Air pistols do not require that the pellet to be seated beyond the flush point of the chamber on the magazine. For CO2 Air Rifles, make sure the pellets fit within the belt cavity and are at least flush with either side. A seating tool is helpful in pushing in hard or heavy pellets that may be difficult to push with your fingers.
What size CO2 canister can I use with my airgun?
Air rifles use the standard 88gr or 90gr canister.Air pistols use 12g cartridges.They are not brand specific as they are a standardized product.
Do I need to clean my gun after firing?
Regular cleaning of an airgun is not necessary.
Why will my magazine not come out?
This is usually caused by one or more pellets being stuck in the barrel due to the CO2 running out. This can be caused when the pellets back up and become lodged between the mag cylinder and the chamber. It can also be caused by pellets that are loose in the mag (falling out) and pellets that are not seated well or not fully leaving the mag. (Before proceeding, remove any active CO2 from the airgun). This can be fixed by taking a cleaning rod of the same caliber, inserting the rod down the barrel and gently tapping the pellet back into the magazine. After this you should be able to remove the magazine easily.
Sometimes when I pull my trigger, a pellet does not fire. What is happening?
The actuator for the rifle belt and pistol rotary mag is activated by the trigger itself. Make sure that you are completely releasing the trigger and fully pulling it again to ensure that the magazine is cycling properly to the next round.

Can I convert my 9mm SIG to .357 SIG or .40SW.
Centerfire Kits (9mm,.357 & .40) are intended for use on .22 Classic Framed Pistols. SIG SAUER does not guarantee or advocate the use of .40/.357 kits on standard centerfire 9mm frames.
How do I identify if my P229 is a 229-1 Version?
Identifying unique characteristics of a 229-1:
- Viewing from the top down, the top surface of the barrel chamber (the extended rectangular section at the rear of a barrel), is rectangle-shaped. A legacy slide chamber will have the shape of a trapezoid.
- A full-length external extractor. Legacy slides will have either an internal extractor or a short external extractor. A full-length external extractor will measure greater than 1 inch.
- Viewing from the top down, there is a hole in the top of the slide with a roll-pin installed in the hole. A legacy slide does not have a hole in the top of the slide.
Should I lubricate my pistol?
YES! All firearms require lubrication. Please follow your owner’s manual for instructions on proper lubrication. SIG SAUER recommends that you use lubricants specifically designed for firearms applications.
What kind of ammo can I shoot from my SIG SAUER pistol?
SIG SAUER recommends the use of only newly manufactured ammunition meeting SAAMI (www.saami.org) and/ or NATO specifications.
Can my pistol be converted to DAK?
If your pistol was made before 2005 it may not be able to be converted. Call our customer service group WITH THE SERIAL NUMBER OF THE GUN and we’ll confirm if the DAK conversion is available for your pistol.
How often should I service my pistol?
We recommend a service interval of once per year or every 5,000 rounds which ever comes first. This keeps your pistol in top operational readiness and is the same standard we recommend to all our law enforcement customers. Our custom shop offers a variety of service plans for both new and pre-owned pistols. Talk with one of our customer service group reps. today to help decide which service plan works best for you.
What is SAAMI and SAAMI-compliant ammunition?
SAAMI = Sporting Arms and Ammunitions Manufacturers Institute. For information on their regulations or to see if your ammunition selection is SAAMI compliant, please go to http://www.saami.org.
Can I use +P or +P+?
+P Ammo manufactured to SAAMI/CIP/NATO specs is fine to use as a defensive round or for occasional range use. Continual use of this round will make it necessary for more frequent service on the pistol. We do NOT recommend the use of any +P+ round. This may void your warranty.
Can I use reloaded or hand-loaded ammo?
No. The use of any ammunition that is not an American factory loaded, SAAMI approved round could be dangerous and will void your warranty.
My 938/238 hammer will drop from the half-cocked position with the safety on. Is this a problem?
The pistol is not designed to be operated in this condition. If you intend to carry the firearm, you should either have the hammer fully cocked with the safety on, or you shouldn’t load a round into the chamber.
Can I add after-market parts to my gun?
Adding after-market parts or accessories to your pistol could be unsafe, result in failure and may void your warranty. Please contact Customer Service before adding any non-OEM part or accessory to your gun.
Why doesn’t the slide on my pistol lock back on the last round?
Lock back issues can be due to a variety of reasons. I have listed a few for you to check*: Be sure the inside of the magazines are thoroughly cleaned of any grease or lubricant. Be sure the gun has been cleaned and has plenty of lubrication on the slide/frame rails, outside of barrel and the hammer/spring assy. Some guns benefit from a break-in period – give the gun a few hundred rounds to break in and work smoothly. Try different ammunition. If the lower powered ammo is used in a new gun, it may cause feeding, extraction and lock back issues until the springs are broken in. Do all the magazines have the same result? Check your hold to be sure your thumb is not contacting the slide catch lever. A weak hold (“limp wristing”) can result in cycle / lock-back issues Does the slide lock back manually with an empty mag inserted? If so, it is most likely due to one of the tips above. *NOTE: The slide will not lock back on the last round on the Classic .22LR pistols and Conversion Kits.
Can the Short Reset Trigger System (SRT) be installed in my gun? Can I buy the parts?
The SRT will install in any DA/SA Classic Series Pistol (P220, P225, P226, P228, P229, and P239). The gun must be sent in to the factory for this service to ensure proper function. See our Custom Shop Services for details
Is it safe to dry-fire my pistol?
It is safe to dry-fire our center fire pistols. You would want to use a snap cap or plug if extensive dry-firing is done. Always count your dry-firing in your live fire count to be sure all springs and pins are in top condition. DO NOT intentionally dry-fire any rim fire pistol such as the Mosquito, .22LR conversions or Classic Pistols.
The outside of my barrel and the slide rails on my frame are showing wear – should I be concerned?
No, finish wear on the barrel and frame rails (or anywhere that metal is in contact with metal) is normal and to be expected. Always be sure your pistol is clean and adequately lubricated. For more information on maintaining your pistol please visit the Owners Manuals section.
There is a square-shaped area of Nitron missing from inside the slide of my pistol. Is this a QC issue?
No. This is normal. This area is where a fixture holds the slide during the application of the Nitron. This will NOT affect the function, quality or longevity of the metal, slide, frame or any of their components.
I own a SigPro SP2340 / SP2009 – can I mount a light or laser unit on the gun?
The SP2340/2009 SigPro pistols feature a proprietary accessory rail. In order to attach accessories to the rail you must obtain an adapter to convert the rail to a standard size such as Picatinny. These can be purchased through SureFire: 1 (800) 828-8809
Can I install a shoulder stock on my 556 Pistol?
Attention: attaching a shoulder stock to the P556 constitutes making a rifle having a barrel less than 16” in length, which is subject to the requirements and restrictions of the National Firearms Act (26 U.S.C. Ch. 53). Customers must contact the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives National Firearms Act Branch before assembly for advice on how to proceed under the federal law and regulations. Local authorities should also be contacted to determine if there are any State or municipal ordinances that may restrict this assembly.
Do any of your 1911 models come with an ambi safety?
Most of our 1911 models come with a standard left hand side thumb safety. Two of our models are equipped with an ambi safety – the STX and Blackwater. The Custom Shop does offer an ambi safety installation service for most models.
Can I attach the STL300J Stoplite vertical hand grip to my P556 or P522 pistol or any pistol with the accessory rails built in?
Yes, but it will then be an “any other weapon” which falls under the National Firearms Act and requires a “tax stamp” or “Form 4” from ATF.
I own a P250. Can I purchase a fire control unit for my X-Change kit?
SIG SAUER, Inc does not offer or sell the serialized units separately.
Are there two different recoils springs for my Mosquito pistol?
No, there is only one recoil spring offered for the Mosquito Pistol. Initial production of the pistol noted two different spring weights. Mosquitos are shipped with spare recoil spring as a replacement and is the same as the recoil spring installed in the pistol.
My mosquito pistol seems to have problems ejecting & extracting?
Please try these basic trouble shooting tips before requesting service: *Please make sure the recoil spring is installed correctly. The narrow end of the spring MUST be on the guide rod first…pointing towards the rear of the gun. If it is not, this will cause feeding, extraction and firing issues. *Like many .22 LR’s, Mosquito’s can be sensitive to ammunition used and to cleanliness and lubrication. Be sure your Mosquito is cleaned and lubricated regularly and before the first use. *There is a lubrication port on the right side of the slide for the extractor, be sure you add a drop of lube in this hole every hundred rounds or so. Make sure the gun is very clean. *Some Mosquito’s benefit from a break-in period. *Be sure to use factory recommend ammunition – CCI Mini-Mags. Winchester Super-X, Remington Golden Bullet, Federal High Velocity etc…also usually work well.
I cannot remove the thread cap from my classic line threaded barrel. What do I do?
These barrel threads are a left handed thread.
I am unable to get the slide of my 1911 back on due to the safety plunger lever being raised. What do I do?
Touch on the safety plunger lever with slight finger pressure, which should drop the lever back into its pocket. Do this before attempting to re-assemble with the slide.

Why were the E2 versions of the P220, P226 & P229 pistols discontinued?
The “E2” specific model pistols were a limited production run. The positive feedback we received in response to their ergonomic grips from our customers was so overwhelming that SIG SAUER, Inc has made them a permanent addition to the basic P220, P226 & P229 lineup.
My SIG SAUER pistol is not accurate. Why? What should I do?
All SIG SAUER production duty/combat pistols are set up to use a “combat” sight picture. This is where the front sight completely covers the bullseye of the target. Using a six o’clock (“pumpkin on a post”) or center mass (“half’n’half”) sight picture will result in low impact. SIG SAUER, Inc sights in all non-sporting and non-target pistols for 2 inch groupings @ 10 yards. If you are still having trouble please contact Customer Service for further help and instruction. Please have your serial number ready. There are also very helpful free Internet sites that cover pistol group analysis.
M17
What are the differences between the M17-Commemorative and P320-M17?
Controls: The most obvious difference is the color of the controls (trigger, slide catch lever, takedown lever, manual safety, magazine catch, extractor pin, slide plate, and sear housing). The commemorative model has coyote tan colored controls, while the P320-M17 comes standard with black controls. The commemorative also uses a tamper-resistant extractor pin, just like the original contract pistols.
Slide markings: The commemorative slide is marked “Sig Sauer M17” and includes the SIG CAGE code (6ZWB1) and part number (13067008).
Barrel markings: The commemorative barrel includes the SIG CAGE code under the caliber engraving.
Corrosive finish: The commemorative incorporates the same phosphate protection on internal parts and critical components as the contracted pistols shipped to the Military. The P320-M17 uses more standard corrosion protection such as DLC and black-passivate coatings.
Serial numbers: Both models will have the “M17” prefix, but the commemorative model will only have four numbers, while the P320-M17 will use six.
Rear sight: The commemorative model uses a one-screw design with orange tritium vials. The P320-M17 uses green tritium vials with a 2-screw design.
Magazines: The commemorative comes standard with 2EA 21rd mags and 1EA 17rd mag. The P320-M17 includes 2EA 17rd mags.
Coin & Card: Each M17-Commemorative will include a limited edition coin and authenticity card with the individual serial number to be redeemed by the purchaser.
Packaging: All commemorative models will ship in the same corrugated cardboard packaging that was used for Military contract shipments. The P320-M17 uses a standard polymer case.
How many M17-Commemorative pistols will be built?
Only 5000 units of the M17-COMMEMORATIVE model will ever be built. Serial numbers will only range from M17-0001 to M17-5000.
Will there be a limited number of P320-M17 pistols built?
No.
I’ve noticed some color variation among the slides and parts. Is that normal?
Yes. The color specification used for the M17 includes a variance of color acceptance. All parts are tested using the most advanced measuring equipment to ensure the colors are within the military requirements. Since parts are finished in separate batches from various vendors, some color disparity is inevitable. The US Military have received and will receive M17’s with the same color variation. Additionally, oil and solvents can give Coyote PVD parts a different appearance, depending on the types used.
How does the sight plate assembly come off of the M17-Commemorative?
The commemorative model uses a one-screw sight plate design that is only accessible from underneath the slide in the rear part of the striker channel.
Are the slides and/or controls finished with Cerakote?
No. All of the steel parts are finished using a process called Physical Vapor Deposition, or PVD. Polymer parts are colored by injecting colored pellets into the plastic mold.
Why do the rear sight tritium orange vials on the M17 Commemorative seem dimmer than the green tritium front?
The orange vials emit a dull appearance by design. The intention was to ensure that the rear vials do not overpower the front to ensure quicker front sight acquisition, as well to ensure that rear dots were not confused with the front under stress.
Can I install a Romeo1 optic on my M17?
Technically, no. Per military requirements, the M17 slide was equipped with a footprint cut to accommodate a DeltaPoint Pro optic. The Romeo1 footprint is smaller, and the mounting holes are too small to fit the necessary M4 screws to mount to the slide. However, the new ROMEO1PRO will be available mid-2019 that will have the correct footprint and mounting hole diameter to fit perfectly on the P320-M17 or any pistol that shares this footprint (new 320 XSeries models, for example).
Will the P320-M17 be offered without a manual safety?
Yes. The non-manual safety model of the P320-M17 should be available by the end of 2018. The commemorative model will NOT be offered without a manual safety.
When was the “X” dropped from XM17?
The XM17 was the “experimental” line of MHS pistols that were submitted for the solicitation. Once the military awards the contract, the “X” is dropped from the model number.

After registering my Legion firearm, how long should it take my commemorative coin and case to ship?
Most Legion registrations are processed within 48 hours (not including weekends). The time-frame that it takes for the case and coin to get to you varies depending on where you live, but generally, they are delivered within 7-10 business days after shipment. We will email you tracking information once the items ship. Generally, the process takes two weeks from start to finish as long as product is in stock.
Is the wear on the frame rails of my Legion pistol normal?
While all firearms will show wear to varying degrees based on a number factors (finish material, lubrication, etc), the most common wear points on the Legion line of SIG SAUER pistols is on the frame rails where the slide and frame meet. Most commonly this will appear as a yellowish color, and can happen within as little as a few initial rounds fired, or even with hand racking the slide. These normal wear markings do not compromise the integrity of the corrosion and rust resistance or the durability of these firearms in any way.
Is the holster wear on my Legion firearm a concern?
Holster wear is very common to all firearms, and the degree to which it happens depends on the type of holster being used and how often you holster the pistol. While holster wear can happen after just a few times in and out of a holster, holsters made from harder materials such as plastic, Kydex, and polymer generally will cause more wear than holsters made of leather, nylon or a lambs’ wool lined option. The latter options (leather, nylon or lined options) tend to be more ideal for shooters with holster wear concerns and for Legion members planning to use their Legion pistol as an every day carry.
I can’t get 15 rounds loaded into my new P229 9mm mags. Do I need new magazines?
Magazines are made to a number of specifications, most of which are based around optimal performance of the firearm. The 15 round 9mm magazines can have very tight springs out of the box, and their overall tolerances are some of the tightest of all of the mags that we use. With natural loading of the magazines, and repetitive compression of these springs, you will see a reduction in resistance getting the full 15 rounds loaded.
Why is the inside of the magwell of my pistol not coated?
The inside of the magwell does not get finished during the PVD process. The frame is actually held from the inside of the magwell while the coating is applied. Early model Legions had a dye in the anodization that makes the inside of the magwell appear to be finished, but it is not.
An accessory has been out of stock for some time. When will it be back in stock?
SIG SAUER is dedicated to regularly having product on hand, especially for Legion members. Some items do go out of stock periodically, especially new and popular items. In many cases we have an option on the website to be notified when a specific product is back in stock. The easiest way to check on back-ordered or out of stock items is to either visit the web store periodically or elect to be notified when an item is back in stock. We are currently working to revamp the Legion exclusive product line with fresh products and consistent availability.
Can I purchase and install the Legion SAO flat trigger in my DA/SA model or vice versa?
No. The flat faced trigger is designed only to work in the SAO models, and likewise, the curved trigger is designed specifically for the DA/SA models.
Is there a Legion specific Caliber X-Change Kit to change my 9mm Legion to a .40 cal or .357 SIG or vice versa?
There are currently no plans at this time to sell Legion specific caliber exchange kits, except for the 9mm only versions of the RX kits equipped with a ROMEO1 red dot sight on a slide cut specifically for the ROMEO. These will be available for both the P229 and P226.
Is SIG SAUER releasing any new Legion models?
SIG SAUER intends to release new versions and models to the Legion line every year. A lot of engineering and development goes into creating the Legion version of a firearm, but we fully intend to increase the frequency that new models launch. Some of the better ways to monitor new releases would be to visit the SIG SAUER website or watch for periodic Legion exclusive emails that SIG SAUER sends to registered Legion members.

Can I register as a Legion member if I purchased a used Legion firearm?
Yes, you can. If you register online, we will create a Legion account for you on our webstore which will give you exclusive access to Legion accessories and promotions. However, if we have already sent a Legion case and commemorative coin for your serial number, we will not send out a second case/coin. You will receive communication from a Legion specialist within a week of registration if you are NOT eligible for a case/coin.
I’ve noticed some color variation among the slides and parts. Is that normal?
Yes. The original Legion pistol slides and frames were finished with a PVD finish in separate batches from various vendors. Some color disparity is inevitable as the slide and frames are different types of material. However, the newest Legion pistols incorporate the new Cerakote Elite finish on the slides and frames which eliminates this inconsistency.
Can I still register my LEGION firearm and receive my 5.11 tactical bag and challenge coin if I am not in the US?

What paperwork do I need, if any, to buy a suppressor?
Federal regulations require an individual to submit a Form 4 to buy from a dealer or distributor. You will also need to check local and state regulations.
What is the cost of the tax?
In addition to the price of the suppressor there is a one-time $200 fee, good for the lifetime of the original transferee, per suppressor purchased.
Where can I go to buy a suppressor?
Any dealer or distributor that has an SOT (special occupational tax) can sell a suppressor. They are also listed as Class III dealers on our Dealer Locator page.

What do the “QD” suppressors come with for mounting?
The QD rifle suppressors come with a muzzle device base (for installation on the barrel), a removable muzzle device, a crush washer for timing the muzzle device, and a tube of Rocksett.
Can I use a 7.62 suppressor QD on a 5.56 host?
Yes. While the aperture diameter is larger, there is also more internal volume, so the DB increase is negligible. You will need the appropriate 762 mount for the threads on the host (generally 1/2 x 28).
All of my 9mm hosts are .5 x 28. Can I use your pistol suppressors on them?
Yes. The SRD 9 comes with two pistons: one in .5 x 28, and one in 13.5 x 1mm lh. Additional conversion pistons are available for the SRD 45, to allow for use on a 9mm, or .40 S&W host.
Can I take apart your suppressors?
All of our pistol caliber suppressors are user serviceable. All of our rifle suppressors are sealed.
Can I shoot .300 blackout through your pistol suppressor?
Some people do shoot sub-sonic only through pistol suppressors, but we do not recommend it, and we will not perform warranty service on a pistol suppressor damaged by a rifle caliber.
Can I shoot .22LR through a rifle suppressor?
No, .22LR can be a very “dirty” shooting cartridge that will foul the internals of a sealed rifle suppressor.
I want to mount a suppressor on my MPX. What do I need?
You’ll need a suppressor with a fixed end cap, or a fixed barrel spacer for the piston, in 13.5 x 1mm lh. A suppressor with a piston should not be used with a fixed barrel, as the added force from the spring tension, under recoil, could damage the suppressor, and the barrel threads.
I have your SRD62TI-QD with the Taperlok™ system, but my barrel has a 90 degree shoulder. Is this a problem?
The SRD QD mounts were designed to work with the taper and a legacy 90 degree shoulder. As long as the mount is properly snugged up to the shoulder and torqued to the proper specs (see owner’s manual), there should be no issue. We’ve done extensive testing using our suppressor devices on 90 degree shoulders.
I have a weapon with your taper on it, but I want to install an accessory that utilizes a 90 degree shoulder. What can I do?
We have both 7.62 and 5.56 taper cap available.
I have a QD mount that came with a small washer piece. Where does it go?
All QD products have a crush washer for timing the muzzle device to the base. The washer should be installed with the smaller side facing forward towards the muzzle device. Once the device is hand tight, you can use a wrench to snug it into position. Example: the single port on the brake may be indexed at a one o’clock/seven o’clock position. By using the crush washer and tightening the brake down, you can index the port to a three o’clock/nine o’clock position.
Can I reuse the crush washer?
No, it is a one-time use item.
I have a P938 with a threaded barrel, but when I thread on my suppressor all the way, it butts against the slide. Is your barrel defective?
The P938 with the threaded barrel was designed with a low profile shoulder. Some suppressor devices may require a longer piston, or a spacer to create an indexing point (not recommended).
I misplaced a baffle (or end cap) on my SRD 22/9/45. Can I buy another one?
No. The baffles and any part that secures the baffles to the suppressor is a controlled item, and can only be replaced or repaired at the factory.
My SRD 9/45 is feeling "laggy" when I shoot. What is the issue?
If the piston assembly hasn’t been cleaned in a while, there may be a buildup internally causing lockup issues. Disassemble the piston assembly and remove any carbon or debris, lightly (a few drops) lubricate, and re-assemble the piston.
My piston assembly will only screw onto the suppressor about half way. What’s the issue?
The piston interlocks with the encapsulator inside the suppressor. If the interlocking surfaces aren’t lined up, the piston will not fully seat on the suppressor. We recommend removing the assembly completely, and then re-installing, making sure the piston is locked into place.
I’ve had an end cap strike on my SRD 762. Can that be repaired? What do you need?
The serialized portion of the suppressor is the base, so any part of the suppressor forward of the base can be cut off, and re-welded. We are able to affect this repair and refinish. If the suppressor is a QD, the mount used when the strike occurred should also be sent in for evaluation.
Does SIG SAUER offer Silencers?
We offer cutting-edge suppressors. “Suppressors are incorrectly referred to as “silencers.” This is a term popularized by the film industry implying that the report (the sound) will be completely silent while using one. The truth is, they reduce the report, muzzle flash, and felt-recoil of a firearm, making shooting more accessible to a wider range of people. They do not make them silent. In most cases when used with subsonic ammunition, a suppressor will achieve ear-safe volume levels.

The Romeo1 will mount to any SIG SAUER cut dovetail (including P220, P226, P227, P229, P320), 1911 Novak cut dovetails, Glock Standard Frame, Glock MOS, Smith and Wesson M&P, Smith and Wesson CORE, HK P2000 and the CZ 75.
What is the difference between first focal plane and second focal plane?
Second focal plane or rear focal plane is when the reticle is behind the magnification. The reticle image does not change as the magnification level is increased or decreased. First focal plane or front focal plane is when the reticle is in front of the magnification. As the power of magnification increases or decreases the reticle become larger or smaller in relation to the target. The sub tensions in the reticle will always stay the same

What is your optics warranty policy?
Why is my red dot not round?
If the red dot on your sight does not look perfectly round or replicates a starburst, the distortion may be the way your eye perceives the dot. This is called astigmatism and most people have a degree of natural astigmatism. Here are a few ways to determine this
- Look at the dot with your non-dominant eye if the dot changes it is most likely caused by astigmatism
- Make sure the brightness settings are not too bright for ambient lighting.
- Photograph the dot using a digital camera or cell phone. Compare the photo with what you are seeing with what your eyes are seeing. If the dot in the picture is round, it is likely you may have a degree of astigmatism.
Why will my red not not hold zero/adjust?
- Check that your mount is pressed forward (towards muzzle) in the picatinny rail lug and torqued to the appropriate spec as outlined in your owner’s manual.
- Verify that the adjustment caps have been removed before adjustment
- (Romeo3) These sights have a mechanical lock screw that will prevent windage/elevation movement on impact. Loosen lock screw prior to adjusting.
- ALL RED DOT SIGHTS SHOULD BE PRESSED FORWARD AGAINST THE PIC RAIL LUG WHILE TORQUING TO THE APPROPRIATE SPEC.
My red dot will not turn off.
- Check the battery and instruction manual of your specific sight. Many of our sights require a button hold for more than 1 second to turn the unit on/off
- Verify that the unit is not in night vision mode by pressing the (+) button a few times to verify that it is not in NV mode and is not seen.

My red dot has a red glare inside
- The objective lens is coated with a material that filters red light, so when you are looking through the optic the dot will not be washed out by red light. If there is excessive light coming from the back (ocular) side of the optic you will see red in the field of view as the coating is “one way” and will reflect light coming in from the back of the optic. This is indicative of all closed red dot sights regardless of manufacturer. There are manufacturing tolerances that will have this in varying degrees. Reduce light coming from behind the optic or wear a hat while shooting.
- The sight brightness level is too high for ambient conditions.

Sometimes the screen protecting the diode becomes dirty. A Q-tip can be used to carefully clean the screen off. Do not use alcohol as this may cause permanent damage to the diode screen.

What is the continuous run-time for the ECHO1?
Continuous run-time is between 8-10 hours but may fluctuate in temperatures below 40 degrees. When in the field, attempt to store the unit in a warm pocket or near Hand Warmers
When the ECHO1 is turned on, my battery indicator immediately shows 80%, is this normal?
Yes. Although the battery may show battery drain characteristics, the battery life will stay in the 25% to 70% percentile for an extended period. Battery life on this unit operates similarly to a cell phone battery where the first 20% percentile is exhausted quickly but levels off thereafter.
What is the best way to focus this unit?
- The focus wheel is located at the front of your optic and is used to clarify the graininess of an object.
- The countdown time is dependent upon weather conditions and cannot be manually adjusted by a user. Once the ECHO1 is acclimated with your environmental conditions, the countdown timer will provide uniform countdowns. When the countdown time goes to zero, the countdown will restart and clear the display’s distortion. For best results, steady the ECHO1 on your target for three to five seconds to allow the unit to refresh.
How do I zero the ECHO1?
This optic is a digital reticle and can be moved by using the toggle stick. Once you have moved the reticle to your preferred location, press the toggle stick inwards. Back out to the main menu and go back in the reticle to ensure the corrections have taken effect. The reticle will not be directly centered on the display when windage and elevation adjustments are saved.
Is there an “OFF” switch on the LIMA lasers?
- Only on the LIMA38.

RANGEFINDERS- I have issues ranging trees/animals

- All range finders are dependent on the target’s ability to reflect light back into the range finder’s receiver. Some surfaces known as Lambertian surfaces can diffuse the light coming back to the range finder making ranging less accurate. Since these surfaces cannot be changed, using the range finder in “hyperscan mode” which increases chances of getting a range. Hyperscan mode is utilized when holding the “RANGE” button down. The rangefinder is working at four times per second versus a single click at one time per second.
- At long distances, hyperscan mode or a tripod should be used to ensure that the target is being hit by the laser.
- Test known items and reflective targets to verify performance such as a reflective item at a known distance. Keep in mind that target color can also make a difference. You can test reticle laser alignment by using hyperscan across a stop sign and see if there is a jump before or after the reticle passes over the item.
- Rangefinders will perform differently based on changes in ambient conditions such as bright sunlight or snow, rain or fog, temperature and the reflectivity of the target being ranged. For example, at dusk and dawn your rangefinder may be able to range trees at over 1000 yards but in bright sunlight may only achieve 500 yards. If your KILO will not range at least 400 yards under normal conditions (fog and rain excluded) please contact customer service. Your product may have fallen out of alignment.

Properly setting a diopter will allow you to look through your lenses with ease and give you a clear, sharp image.
To properly set the diopter, follow these steps:
- Look at an object approximately 100 yards away.
- Close your right eye and adjust the center focus wheel (large knob between barrels) until you find the clearest image.
- Open your right eye and close your left eye. Adjust the wheel in front of the eyecup on the right barrel until you find the clearest image. Your diopter is now set.
To make in-field adjustments for clarity, simply adjust the large center focus wheel slightly to find the clearest image.

ZULU 3/5/7/9 - I can’t seem to get a good image through my binoculars when wearing glasses.

ZULU 3/5/7/9 - I have a large dark spot in the middle of my field of view.
It is possible that your interpupillary distance is not set correctly. Try adjusting the binoculars at the bridge (or hinge points) until you see one whole image.
ZULU 3/5/7/9 - I have set my eye relief and diopter correctly, but I am still seeing a “double image” when looking through my lenses.
It is possible that your binoculars are out of collimation or they are not aligned correctly. Contact customer service to have your binoculars inspected.
What is the difference between a FFP(First Focal Plane) and a SFP(Second Focal Plane)? When can I use the sub-tensions on a SFP(Second Focal Plane)?
First focal plane reticles get larger as you increase your magnification. Second Focal Plane or (SFP) scopes will have the same reticle size regardless of magnification levels. On Second Focal Plane(SFP) scopes, sub-tensions can only be used when you are on full magnification.
I am experiencing parallax issues
No scope is parallax free, in order to minimize POA error, the shooter must have a consistent, repeatable shooting position including their eye centered in the exit pupil. With parallax adjustable models, the knob should be set dependent upon the known target distance. Scopes with no parallax adjustment knob is statically set/collimated at 100 yards.
My Reticle will not illuminate
Please ensure the batteries are installed correctly. If a new battery is installed, ensure the outer terminals in the battery compartment are not compressed, bent, or damaged. If so, please contact Customer Service
My scope will not adjust
You should feel noticeable clicks. If the turret is spinning with no faint clicks, check the turret fasteners are tightened properly. There may be an internal adjustment issue which requires an RMA being set up.
My scope will not hold zero, what do you recommend?
First, ensure your rings are pushed forward towards the muzzle of your rifle. If you see rub marks on the bottom of your rings or one-piece mount, this is a sign that the rings are moving under recoil, causing erratic, inconsistent shots and groups. Next, ensure the scope screws are torqued to the specific factory settings. After these steps, reach out to SIG SAUER Optics CS at: 603-610-3000.
Can these scopes be used on SIG Air Rifles?

What is LevelPlex?
LevelPlex is a digital anti-cant system, ensuring your scope is perfectly level and can be used as an aid in leveling your scope when installing it on your firearm.
How do I turn on/off my LevelPlex?
If your unit has LevelPlex, it should be noted on your scope box and on the scope battery cap. To turn on/off this system, press the battery cap inwards towards the center of the unit. You should feel a click. If turning on, look through the scope and tilt it from side to side. Two triangles on the left and right will illuminate and should disappear when turning off the system.All TANGO6 1-6 scopes will not have Levelplex.
My LevelPlex lights are too dim/bright. How can I adjust them?
The LevelPlex system has two sensitivity settings and three brightness levels for each setting.To change the settings, place the reticle illumination dial in the off position. Press and hold the LevelPlex button down for approximately three seconds. Do not let go. After approximately three seconds, the system will start to cycle through the settings. Each setting will display for approximately three seconds. Once you reach your desired setting, simply release the LevelPlex button.
WHISKEY5 - What is the use for the circular black tool inside the box?
Female end of the circular adjustment tool: This end allows you to adjust your total elevation travel in a specific direction. While this is very beneficial, you are adding travel in one direction at the expense of the other.
WHISKEY5 - How do I power on LevelPlex?
LevelPlex is activated by pressing the LevelPlex insignia inwards on the battery cap. Upon pushing, you will see two triangles illuminate at your 3 and 9 o’clock positions.
Tango4/6 - My horseshoe reticle is not bright enough.
There are multiple factors that can contribute to reticle brightness. The battery could be low or too much ambient light may be present. The design of these reticles are physically etched into the glass inside the optic and may appear to wash out in very bright environments.
My reticle brightness fades in the lower left corner of my scope(Tango4, Tango6 w/DEV-L Reticle)
This is specific to TANGO Models with DEV-L reticles. This is an unavoidable effect due to the scope design with a glass etched reticle. Most “Christmas Tree” or DEV-L reticles throughout the industry are not illuminated on the holdovers.
What are my sub tensions in my Tango4/6 1-4/6 scope?
The numbered horizontal holdover lines represents a width of 18” at that specified range. For example, you are shooting a common IPSC Target with a standard 18-20” width, if your holdover line labeled 3 fits the width of the target, the target is 300 yards away.For more specific sub tensions please contact customer service at 603-610-3000 or [email protected]
What distance should I zero my BDC reticle?
The reticle is designed to be zeroed at 100 yards.
How accurate are the holdovers?
These holdovers are rough estimates. There are many factors that determine the ballistics of a bullet in flight. Best practice is that an individual know the drop of their bullet and not rely solely on the holdovers. Currently the only holdovers we provide are for 7.62/5.56, and 300BLK.

I have a rail with MOA built into it. Will that affect the accuracy of the SBT?
No. The SBT is based off your zero and the drop of the round thereafter. You can even remove your canted mount, re-zero and the SBT will still work.
My average temperature varies from 90 degrees in the summer to 30 degrees in the winter. How much effect does this have on the accuracy of the SBT?
This all depends on the ballistics of the round you are shooting. A 300 Win Mag will see less than an inch POI change at 400 yards with a 60 degree temperature swing while a standard 223 Rem will see more than an inch POI change at the same distance and temperature swing.
Do I zero my scope first? If so what is the best zero distance?
Sight-in/zero your scope before you install the SBT. The best sight-in/zero distance for most centerfire cartridges is 100 yards because it eliminates environmental factors when shooting at different elevations.
If I zero my scope at 200 or 300 yards will I get more range out of my SBT?
Not necessarily. When sighting-in your scope at longer distances, you are required to use more elevation adjustment due to the drop of your round. This takes away from your overall available travel for dialing to larger distances. Even though the SBT may be calculated for those larger distances, that doesn’t mean you will have the travel to get there.
Can the SBT be used for a different round than what it was calculated for?
No. SBT’s are intended for one specific bullet. Ballistic coefficient, muzzle velocity, and weight are the big three factors that will drastically change the trajectory of a round.

BRAVO 3,4,5 - What is the optimal zero distance for the Bravo 3/5?
The reticle is designed to be zeroed at 100 yards.
BRAVO 3,4,5 - What are my reticle subtensions?
Both the Bravo3 and Bravo5 have BDC reticles for 5.56/7.62 and 300 Blackout.
Does the Oscar3 have variable magnification?
Yes. The Oscar3 can be used with 10X magnification or 20X magnification.
Why is the Oscar3 slow to track other objects?
When moving to track another object make sure the SIG Optic Stabilizer is in the OFF position. Turn the SIG Optic Stabilizer back ON when you have acquired and adjusted to the object you wish to look at.
BDX
I can’t get the display to focus.
You need to adjust the diopter ring to your vision. Rotate the eyecup / diopter ring in either direction until the display comes into sharp focus.
I can’t seem to range very far past trees or animals.
Your KILO will perform differently based on changes in ambient conditions such as bright sunlight or snow, rain or fog, temperature and the reflectivity of the target being ranged. For example, at dusk and dawn your rangefinder may be able to range trees at over 1000 yards but in bright sunlight may only achieve 500 yards. If your KILO will not range at least 400 yards under normal conditions (fog and rain excluded) please contact customer service. Your product may have fallen out of alignment.

My battery drains too fast.
Most rangefinders will provide over 4000 individual range calculations using a fresh CR2 primary lithium battery. Your KILO exceeds this specification. When heavily using SCAN mode the battery may appear to drain faster since your KILO is ranging 4x per second in HyperScan mode. This is normal operation but you should keep a spare CR2 battery when heading out to remote locations.
My ballistic solution in the HUD and displayed in the KILO is always off a few inches..
For accurate ballistic solutions make sure you have updated the temperature and altitude within the App to your current location, you have the correct bullet caliber (diameter) and weight selected, your zero distance is correct and that your muzzle velocity is correct. Using the MV Calibration routine provides the most accurate MV and will improve the accuracy of the ballistic calculator. It is always best to use the MV Calibration routine at the farthest distance you intend to shoot. Calibrating at 500 yards will yield a better MV than calibrating at 200 yards.
I cannot get my smartphone to connect to my BDX rangefinder or riflescope.
Try the following: (1) turn Bluetooth OFF, then back ON on your phone, (2) remove the batteries from your scope and rangefinder and reinstall, and / or (3) close the BDX App and relaunch it.
On the PAIRING page I cannot see any devices listed below the KILO or SIERRA icons.
Press “Scan for Devices” in the upper right hand side of the screen. Any active devices that are powered on will show up in white below the icons.
I seem to be off by several inches at each target range, i.e. at 300, 400 and 500 yards.
You likely need to adjust your muzzle velocity by either chronographing your rifle or using the MV calibration tool built into the BDX App. The MV calibration can be done by clicking on the target icon located next to the MV on the RANGEFINDER page or in the reticle image on the SIGHTS page.
I have a warning that I need to update my firmware. What do I do?
When you PAIR with a rangefinder or sight, you may have a mandatory firmware update. Go to the RANGEFINDER page or SIGHTS page and you will be prompted to update your firmware. Make sure your KILO or SIERRA is turned on before pressing the UPGRADE button on your App. If for any reason the firmware update doesn’t complete you can close the App, go back into the RANGEFINDER or SIGHTS page and restart the update.
My blue LED indicator turned off on my SIERRA3 riflescope.
Check to make sure the riflescope has good batteries and is turned on (you should see an illuminated reticle). Launch the BDX App and check on the SIGHTS page to make sure the ballistic reticle is turned OFF. Your SIERRA3 should be paired and bonded with a BDX KILO for the blue LED indicator on the power selector ring to be turned on. Also, if you enabled battery saver mode in the BDX App the blue PSR LED indicator will shut off when the batteries drop below 25% capacity.
My blue LED indicator on my power selector ring is flashing.
This is typical after turning on for the first time. The slow blink means it is advertising its Bluetooth ID for pairing to the BDX App or a KILO. The LED is solid when paired and bonded with an active KILO; the KILO must be in ABU mode and the ballistic reticle must be turned OFF. When a new ballistic holdover value is calculated and passed to the SIERRA the blue PSR indicator will flash quickly to confirm it received the solution and then return to solid. If you exceed the maximum range on the Bluetooth modules on your paired and bonded KILO the blue PSR indicator will return to slow flashing.
I see PIN76 in my KILO.
You are prompted to enter a 2-digit PIN code when pairing with a KILO using the BDX App. Enter “76” in this case into your phone and hit enter. A dialog pop-up box at the bottom of the App screen will confirm that this PIN code is correct and your KILO will be formally paired and authenticated to your phone.
When using AB External on my KILO I can no longer see the rangefinder information on the HUD in the BDX App.
If your KILO and a Kestrel are actively paired (sending / receiving information) the BDX App cannot be connected and paired to your KILO at the same time.
My KILO is set to AB External but is not displaying holdover information.
To display a complete ballistic solution your KILO must be actively paired with a Kestrel. No holdover information is displayed unless the Kestrel and KILO are both on and actively paired.
The rangefinder HUD in the BDX App is sluggish when using my KILO in AB External mode (Kestrel is not paired to the KILO)
AB External mode on your KILO was designed to be used directly with a Kestrel with AB Elite on board. This communications protocol is relatively slow and does not respond quickly as compared to using AB Ultralight. AB Ultralight resides on your KILO and is much faster for calculating ballistic solutions out to 800 yards.
My KILO and Kestrel are paired but I am not getting anything but zero’s for elevation and wind holds.
You need to set up at least one custom bullet profile on your Kestrel. See the Kestrel instructions for setting up a bullet profile.
I have my KILO in ABU mode and I have one bullet profile configured but I am still getting 0.00 displayed for wind and elevation holds in the BDX HUD and in the KILO.
It is possible that your AB license in the KILO was not provisioned. Please call Sig Sauer customer service – we can help you unlock your KILO AB License.
Why are dots illuminated on both sides in my SIERRA for wind holds?
Wind holds can be symmetrical (both sides) or directional (one side). You can configure this setting in the BDX App – SIGHTS menu – Settings. Set the wind holds to symmetrical if you just want a standard cross wind setting but are not sure which way the wind might be heading.

What type of ammo can I shoot out of my air rifle and pistol?
Air pistols can shoot lead and alloy pellets. You can purchase SIG SAUER pellets here. Do not shoot anything higher than 10 grain. Optimally, 6-8 grain pellets are the best. We have found that some Crosman pellets specifically tend to sit loosely in the magazines. We suggest trying multiple ammo types for best results. Air rifles can fire both lead and alloy pellets too.
Do I need to use a seating tool with the supplied magazines?
Air pistols do not require that the pellet to be seated beyond the flush point of the chamber on the magazine. For CO2 Air Rifles, make sure the pellets fit within the belt cavity and are at least flush with either side. A seating tool is helpful in pushing in hard or heavy pellets that may be difficult to push with your fingers.
What size CO2 canister can I use with my airgun?
Air rifles use the standard 88gr or 90gr canister.Air pistols use 12g cartridges.They are not brand specific as they are a standardized product.
Do I need to clean my gun after firing?
Regular cleaning of an airgun is not necessary.
Why will my magazine not come out?
This is usually caused by one or more pellets being stuck in the barrel due to the CO2 running out. This can be caused when the pellets back up and become lodged between the mag cylinder and the chamber. It can also be caused by pellets that are loose in the mag (falling out) and pellets that are not seated well or not fully leaving the mag. (Before proceeding, remove any active CO2 from the airgun). This can be fixed by taking a cleaning rod of the same caliber, inserting the rod down the barrel and gently tapping the pellet back into the magazine. After this you should be able to remove the magazine easily.
Sometimes when I pull my trigger, a pellet does not fire. What is happening?
The actuator for the rifle belt and pistol rotary mag is activated by the trigger itself. Make sure that you are completely releasing the trigger and fully pulling it again to ensure that the magazine is cycling properly to the next round.
