What’s New in Qi2?
Qi Wireless Charging was introduced in 2010, revolutionizing phone charging while making it safe and convenient. Leveraging recent technological enhancements, the Qi2.2 standard significantly increases wireless charging capabilities, supporting charging rates of up to 25 watts.
FAST
Qi2.2 Fast Charges Qi2-enabled and MagSafe® iPhone models (12 and later) at up to 25W. That’s 3X faster than a standard 7.5W Qi wireless charger. Some devices can charge up to 50% in around 30 minutes. Backwards compatible, Qi2 chargers work with first generation Qi-enabled phones - charging them at up to 7.5W.
EASY
Qi2 allows for a greater vertical distance between the charging device and receiver, up to 8 mm, which gives you more flexibility when positioning your devices on the mount. The circle of magnets inside Qi2 chargers align with those in MagSafe iPhone models and Qi2 Android phones, to allow charging, even if the device isn’t positioned perfectly.
EFFICIENT
With the new coil design in Qi2 chargers featuring advanced charging algorithms and communication protocols, energy loss is reduced, and also less energy is lost as heat. Cooler charging can help preserve the life of your device’s battery.
