Scope Optics was founded in the early 1960s by the late Mr. Ahmed Abdel Azim, who graduated from the Institute of Optics in 1958. A true pioneer of the optics profession in Egypt, he dedicated his life to advancing optical technology until his passing in 2008.
Continuing his legacy, Mr. Mohamed Ahmed Abdel Azim took the helm of innovation – graduating from the Institute of Optics in 1992 and transforming Scope into a world-class lens manufacturing facility.
Today, Scope Optics stands as the first factory in Egypt and the Middle East to manufacture progressive free-form lenses.

1960s
Founded by Mr. Ahmed Abdel Azim. Introduced anti-reflection coating technology to Egypt.
2006
First in Egypt & Middle East to manufacture free-form progressive lenses using German Optotech technology.
2013
Introduced Digital Ray Path — the first personalized lens design in Egypt based on individual wearing parameters.
2015
Launched UV Relax In-Mass blue light protection, powered by Mitsui Japan — a filter built into the lens material itself.
2020
Upgraded free-form production with Schneider machines and Advanced Ray Tracing technology.
2021
Launched Digital Ray Path II and MetaVision — revolutionary eye-tracking simulation technology.
2022
Opened Egypt's first ISO 21987-certified spectacle lens fitting lab with total quality management.
