Web Application Development Services That Scale Beyond Launch

We build web applications for product teams, enterprises, and founders, from multi-tenant SaaS platforms and internal business portals to marketplaces, progressive web apps, and AI-enhanced web apps. With 13+ years of production engineering experience and ISO 9001 certified delivery, we serve web-first companies across 45+ countries at India rates with Western-grade discipline.

Whether you are launching a multi-tenant SaaS, replacing a legacy internal portal, building a two-sided marketplace, or shipping a PWA that needs to work offline, our web engineering team ships applications that move the metrics that matter: time to launch, monthly active user growth, and post-launch maintenance velocity.

What We Build For Web

SaaS Web Applications

Multi-tenant SaaS platforms with auth, billing, role-based access, admin tooling, and the core feature set that defines the product. Our approach is supported by structured SaaS development services designed for long-term scalability and product evolution. We build on stacks that scale to multi-region and hold past the first thousand customers. The architecture decisions made at v1 are the ones you live with at v10.

Internal Business Apps and Portals

Custom internal tools for operations, finance, HR, and customer service. Replacements for legacy intranet portals. Integrations with the systems of record your business already runs, including ERP, CRM, and HRIS. Internal tooling has different requirements from consumer apps: data integrity, audit trails, role-based access, and integration depth matter more than visual polish.

Marketplaces and Platforms

Two-sided and multi-sided marketplaces with supply onboarding, demand discovery, transaction flow, ratings, dispute handling, and platform analytics. Marketplaces are the hardest web application category to scope accurately. There are always more edge cases than the brief shows. We have shipped enough to know where to draw the line early.

Progressive Web App (PWA) Development

PWA development covers applications that install on the home screen, work offline, and push notifications without going through an app store. The right choice when you need broad reach without committing to native mobile, or when your users are on managed devices that block App Store installs. We use Service Workers, Workbox, and the Web Push API. Offline-first data sync is part of the build.

SaaS Web App Development

SaaS web app development at ScalaCode covers the full stack: multi-tenant data isolation, subscription billing, onboarding flows, role-based permissions, admin dashboards, and the observability layer that tells you what is breaking before your users do. We have shipped SaaS platforms from v1 to series-funded scale.

AI-Enhanced Web Applications

Web apps where AI is integrated into the product flow rather than listed as a feature. RAG-powered search, AI agents inside dashboards, AI-driven personalization, and AI workflow assistants embedded in product flows. We work with OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, Google Gemini, LangChain, and vector databases, including Pinecone, Weaviate, and pgvector.

How We Work With You

We run a structured process from first call to post-launch. Below is how a typical engagement moves, whether you are building with us as an MVP software development company or looking to hire software developers for long-term product development.

Problem discovery

Discovery ( Week 1)

60-minute call. We learn your product, users, tech stack, and constraints. We agree on the scope envelope and engagement model.

Team formation (Week 1 to 2)

We propose engineers from our vetted bench. You interview and approve each one. The team connects into your tools, including GitHub, Linear, Slack, and your QA stack.

Sprint delivery (Ongoing)

Two-week sprints with demos, written status updates, deployed previews, and code reviews you can audit at any point.

Launch and steady-state (Per release)

Production readiness review, observability wiring, runbook handover. Post-launch, the same team continues into maintenance or the next build phase.

  • We ship on stacks that scale to year three

Most web apps fail at year two because the foundation was built for v1 demand. We build on stacks that survive past launch day. Postgres-first data model. Type-safe end to end. Real test coverage. Observability was wired in before the first deploy.

  • Real test coverage and real CI

Most agencies treat tests and CI as nice-to-haves. We treat them as part of the build spec. Test coverage at least at the integration layer, end-to-end smoke tests on the critical flows, and CI that catches regressions before code review.

  • Honest about hosting and infrastructure

We work with AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, Vercel, Render, Fly, and Supabase. We pick by your scope, your team’s existing skills, and your unit economics, not by what we have a partnership with.

  • ISO 9001-certified delivery, India rates

Documented engineering process. Clutch and GoodFirms-verified reviews. Indiarate billing with Western-grade engineering discipline. You get the cost arbitrage without the quality compromise.

  • Portfolio breadth across web categories

SaaS, internal tools, marketplace, PWA, government, accessibility-focused fintech, healthcare, and media. Real shipped apps with real users. Ask any vendor to show you the same.

Migrating From A Legacy Web App: How We Approach It

Most web application engagements at the enterprise end are not greenfield. They are replacements for a legacy app that has accumulated ten or fifteen years of business logic, integrations, and undocumented behavior. The migration path matters more than the new stack.

Technical Due Diligence

Two to four weeks of auditing before we propose anything. We document the data model, integration points, undocumented business rules, and the risk surface. We interview the people who know what the codebase actually does. Most legacy apps have a few engineers who are the only people who understand specific subsystems; we capture that knowledge before they leave.

Strangler-Pattern Migration

We rarely recommend a big-bang rewrite. The strangler pattern lets you migrate one subsystem at a time while the legacy app keeps running. New features ship on the new stack. Legacy features migrate in priority order. The cutover happens when there is nothing left on the old stack worth migrating.

Parallel Run and Decommission

For high-risk subsystems, we run new and old in parallel for a defined window, comparing outputs to catch behavioral drift. Once the new subsystem is verified, the old code is decommissioned, and the team moves to the next subsystem.

database-migration.

Data Migration with Audit Trails

Data migration is its own workstream with its own engineering lead. We design the migration to be repeatable, auditable, and reversible. Production data migrations happen during off-peak windows with rollback plans on standby.

Ways To Work With Us

Pick the model that matches how you want to engage.

Model Best for How billed
Dedicated team (most common) Multi-month roadmap with shifting priorities. You manage product, we provide engineering velocity. Per engineer per month, $1,200 to $4,000 by seniority. Three-month minimum.
Fixed-scope project A defined deliverable such as a v1 SaaS launch or a specific portal rebuild. Lump sum with milestone payments. Best when scope is genuinely fixed.
Staff augmentation Adding named web engineers to your existing engineering team. Per engineer per hour, $13 to $25 by seniority.
Time and materials Discovery, prototypes, or exploratory builds where the spec is still being defined. Hourly with a monthly cap.

ScalaCode vs The Alternatives

What you might compare Where ScalaCode fits When it might not
US-based web agency India delivery at three to four times lower cost for equivalent engineering quality. ISO 9001 process, Clutch-verified reviews. If procurement requires a US contracting entity and onshore data residency, contracting is more involved.
Freelance web developer We bring engineering management, QA, test coverage, and team continuity. A freelancer has none of those by default. If you have one small feature to add and you already have a project manager, a freelancer can fit.
No-code platform (Bubble, Webflow, Retool) We build the custom layer when no-code hits its ceiling. Most production web apps outgrow no-code within 18 months. If your scope genuinely fits inside Bubble, Webflow, or Retool, do not pay for custom. We will tell you when that is true.
Building in-house Faster time to launch and lower fixed cost than hiring a five-engineer web team. If you already have a senior web lead and want to staff around them, partnership may suit better than a full team.

Web Application Segments We Serve

Team

SaaS Product Teams

Product teams building or scaling SaaS platforms: Multi-tenant architecture, auth and billing, role-based access, admin tooling, observability.

Enterprise IT and Operations

Internal portals, custom business apps, legacy app replacements, ERP and CRM-adjacent tools. Integration depth matters more than mass-market polish.
