About Us

RoadSafe is a network which brings together private sector with government and road safety professionals.

Our mission is to reduce road deaths and injuries by supporting and encouraging partnerships between the private sector and road safety professionals to promote the Safe System, sharing knowledge, encouraging innovation and recognising achievement.

We bring together representatives from government, the vehicle and component manufacturing, insurance and road transport industries, road safety professionals and specialist media, to find new approaches to reducing casualties amongst vulnerable groups.

We are unique as we are currently the only forum which gathers all these representatives to work together. Originally launched in October 2001, it has grown from the respected Prince Michael International Road Safety Awards, which have been recognising outstanding achievement and innovation in road safety since 1987.

Our primary objectives are:

To support and encourage knowledge exchange between road safety professionals, private sector and government.

To champion the adoption of a ‘Safe System’ approach to casualty reduction.

To promote good practice and share knowledge.

To recognise achievement and innovation.

To demonstrate the commitment of partners to reduce road casualties.

We are a member of the UN Road Safety Collaboration and are recognised as a ‘partner’ by the Department for Transport (DfT). We are committed to supporting the government’s road safety agenda by developing initiatives in partnership to achieve specific casualty reduction targets.

Our partners include Agilysis, SMMT, leading car, commercial vehicle and component companies, insurance companies and many other organisations in the transport sector. We are working with a number of professional bodies including ARRM, PACTS and RoSPA.

Our key programmes include
