‘Better together. He waka eke noa.’
This theme recognises the team effort that healthcare now entails. Radiology and radiation oncology play a central role in delivering health care. Collaboration within our own and with other specialties is more important than ever in meeting the increasingly complex health needs of patients. Addressing and embracing challenges arising from emerging technologies (including AI) and doing so sustainably is paramount for the future of our specialties.

Member perspectives on professional development, support, and connection.

“Clinical radiology is a great specialty. It’s stimulating, diverse, flexible, collegial and ever changing. I enjoy making a difference to patients through both diagnostic and procedural work and I also love working with radiographers, sonographers and other members of our specialty. There’s something in radiology for everyone.”
Dr Ronny Low

" What I love about Radiation Oncology is fundamentally the connection you have with your patients and their families. Adding to that, the speciality is a wonderful mix of science, clinical skills and technology. Radiation Oncology is also ever-changing; how we treat certain cancers is not how we will treat them in 5-10 years time.”
Dr Dushiyanthi Rasanathan

“What I value most is the dual role of the radiologist: pairing complex diagnostic problem-solving with high-impact minimally invasive procedures. This blend of cognitive and hands-on skills makes radiology uniquely rewarding.”
Dr Denver Khoo

“Being a radiation oncologist is incredibly fulfilling. It blends the use of cutting-edge technology with hands-on patient care. Supporting my patients through their cancer journey and seeing the impact of our treatment firsthand is what makes this career so rewarding.”
Dr Claire Hardie
