Bunny Lee as producer. Prince Jammy as engineer. The Aggrovators making the tracks. It is the Holy Trinity of Jamaican Music. Throughout the years, recorded music has been shaped by some enduring partnerships between producer and engineer, such as Teo Macero and Fred Plautt for Miles Davis, Jerry Wexler and Tom Dowd for Atlantic Records, and George Martin and Geoff Emerick for the Beatles. But possibly none were as prolific as the collaboration between Bunny ‘Striker’ Lee and Prince Jammy at King Tubby’s Studio between 1976 and 1982.

In 1977 and 1982 respectively, Conflict Dub and Dubbing In The Front Yard were released in London as white labels in extremely limited quantities.  The two LPs found the triumvirate of Lee, Jammy and The Aggrovators in perfect form with driving instrumentals, flashes of vocal beauty and mixes that ripped apart and rebuilt traditional notions of sonic structure. Due to the nature of their limited release (not to mention the lack of artwork and even titles) the two dub LPs quickly disappeared into that mythic realm of records whispered about by only the most hard-core reggae collectors. This release is the first-ever reissue of these sought after LPs, and contains all the original songs in both vinyl form (double LP set with both albums on the original labels) and a lush double pack cd with 3 extra bonus tracks. The sleeve notes are by Diggory Kenrick with amazing photos by Howard Johnson, director of the influential Channel 4 documentary ‘Deep Roots Music’.

The 3 CD bonus tracks are all remixes. Two from Paolo ‘Dubfiles’ Baldini for the Dubbing in the Front Yard set. One for Conflict Dub by Diggory Kenrick.

Earlier this year, Pressure Sounds celebrated its 100threlease since it’s founding in 1995.  In that time, the label has been responsible for unearthing and celebrating some of the rarest, most influential and unique Jamaican records ever cut.

We have some haandmade Silk Screen printed posters that we have specially made for our upcoming 100th release. Just 100 printed in this colour design. All posters are hand numbered. 660mm x 485mm / 26 inches x 19 inches. Printed on a thin fine craft type paper each poster is slightly unique due to the hand printed process. Design is Japanese by illustrator artist 'Ninja Style' who is based in Japan.

We have a new 4 track ten inch featuring Lerry Perry on vocals and Diggory Kenrick on flute. There will be four cuts of 'Long Way' rhythm. The dubs in particular are really strong.

Single vinyl lp of this excellent Striker Lee Produced Dub Lp. Also comes on CD with Bonus tracks. The Tommy McCook album 'Disco Rockers' which is a ten track set on vinyl and 12 tracks on CD will be released at the same time. The CD pack will have both albums together and will be as a double CD, with an accompanying 12 page booklet with sleevenotes by Diggory Kenrick. 

A night of pure joy and top tunes at the Georgian Theatre on the 30th of December in Stockton on tees with tunes too rock and swing to. Entry is free with a smile. Get on down there if you are local.

We are hoping that we will have a few copies of the new Silk screen version of the Lloyd Parks 'We the people' album should be printed in time. They will come with very limited white labels of the forthcoming album.

The next release on Pressure Sounds will be the Lloyd Parks and We The People 'Meet the People' album. The original 8 track single vinyl album we will be released as it was first time around same sleeve etc. The CD will have 6 bonus tracks. We are hoping the vinyl will be here before Christmas but the official release date is Jan the 19th 2018.

 We will have new singles out around the end of November.
