Our Story

Over 20 years of media site experience with leading global brands

PressArea was founded by a cross-functional team of former journalists, production editors and senior PRs to provide the UK’s best virtual press office on a cloud-based Software as a Service (SaaS) platform. We’ve been in business for 17 years and during that time have established a trusted relationship with over 60,000 press and 300 brands worldwide, including John Lewis, Heathrow, British Airways, Home Retail Group, Homebase, Argos, TKMAXX, Waitrose, Debenhams, Arcadia, M&S and many, many more.

PressArea is an incredibly flexible and versatile one-stop shop for all your PR and communications needs that sits within and fully integrates with your organisation’s own web site. From a simple cloud-based backstage interface you can collaborate and draft press releases and rich media content, publish them directly to your media centre and automatically distribute releases, and then track the results, all from one platform.

PressArea is delivered as a cloud-based, Software as a Service (SaaS) solution. There are no software downloads needed, and no installation is required. All you need is internet access and a browser.

The solution has been designed to make it as easy as possible to automate large volumes of incoming press requests, and make sending, tracking and monitoring press releases simple, freeing up time for PRs to concentrate on strategy and value.

Our costs are simple. The service is billable monthly or you can pay quarterly or annually if you prefer. All prices are fixed, there are no extra costs, no licensing costs, no support costs, no helpdesk costs, no per-user costs; up-front and on-going training is included; plus all bandwidth and storage costs are also included.

The PressArea team has a wealth of knowledge in the internet, press and PR field and we pride ourselves in offering outstanding account management. We understand your needs and can deliver a solution that not only makes rich media distribution easy, but also allows you to keep track and manage a busy press office.

The PressArea team is always striving to add new functionality and embrace the latest technologies to ensure we’re always current. When we add new functions, we distribute them to all of our PressArea users free of charge, so that you all can benefit straight away.

We provide one level of support for all clients. Support is included with the monthly fee and is not charged at additional rates. You have a dedicated account manager and support is available on office hours 8.30-5.30 Monday Friday on telephone and email. Outside of office hours we pick up support emails and will usually respond within a few hours.
