FOCUS AREAS | Health
How might we harness innovation across the interconnected worlds of food, agriculture, cities (and villages), and industries to extend healthspan for all?
Health is shaped by far more than healthcare. What people eat, the air they breathe, how their cities are built, and the industries they work in all determine whether they live long, healthy, productive lives. Understanding and acting on these connections is where the greatest opportunity lies.
Climate change is compounding the challenge. Rising temperatures and shifting disease patterns are placing growing pressure on health systems across Southeast Asia — a reminder that mitigation and adaptation are, ultimately, public health interventions too.
The concept of healthspan -- not just living longer, but living better -- reframes what innovation should aim for. We work across the full spectrum: from advances in agrifood that improve nutrition, to cities and industries that reduce environmental health burdens, to innovations in healthcare delivery. The opportunity is to build proactive, preventative approaches to health and wellbeing that work for everyone.
