Volunteer Information
Each year, the Nugget Casino Resort pays out tens of thousands of dollars to local community organizations whose volunteers work at the Best in the West Nugget Rib Cook-Off.
The Nugget relies on local volunteers to staff its beverage booths and rib-running positions. The Nugget then pays the wages earned by the volunteers directly to their community organizations. It’s a great way for the Nugget to give back to the community that supports us, and it helps us at the same time, so it’s a win-win!
Not only do the volunteers get to raise money for causes that are important to them by earning wages, they also keep the tips.
In the past, the Nugget has partnered with local organizations such as Lions Club, Knights of Columbus, Trauma Intervention Program, Spanish Springs High School Band, McQueen High School Band, Mt. Rose Elementary School, eNVision, Veterans Guest House, Rotary Club,
Reed High School, Northern Nevada Children’s Cancer Foundation and Sparks High ROTC.
