February 2026: New software released!

We are pleased to release the following new versions:

• Notesbrowser 2.5
• Notesbrowser Lite 2.5
• Notesbrowser Editor 2.5

Download it as always on the download page.

 

New in Version 2.5:

• Many things have been simplified and all versions have been cleaned up of features that we (and presumably our users) did not use. This makes Notesbrowser even more lightweight.
• The scheduler and calendar are no longer available. However, a warning message is displayed if any appointments are still found.
• Plugins are no longer supported.
• The MP3 Timer plugin has been removed (it is no longer being developed).
• Other language versions than English and German are not longer supported
• Technical: Notesbrowser.dll has been removed and integrated into Notesbrowser.exe.
• Notesbrowser Freeware: The free freeware version continues to work.
• Notesbrowser: Bug fixed: The position of the page rename field has been improved.
• Notesbrowser Editor: Bug fixed: If a drive, e.g., a USB stick, has been removed, you can now still select a new file.
• Minor improvements and bug fixes.

October 2025: Closure of the GmbH

We are announcing today that Wave Digital Studios GmbH will cease business operations after 21 years. 

Nothing will change for our customers in the foreseeable future. Our Notesbrowser organizer will continue to be sold and we intend to develop it further in the future. However, due to exciting, time-consuming professional and personal projects, further development is no longer planned at a rapid pace (this has already become apparent in recent years). 

We have made this decision because the administrative costs and expenses of a GmbH as a legal form are disproportionate for our project, which is more of a “hobby” project. We still enjoy using Notesbrowser ourselves and are therefore interested in continuing to develop it and fix bugs. Support and service (via form and our forum) will continue. We will announce here in due course exactly how we will continue Notesbrowser.

We would like to thank all our customers, partners, and companions for their trust and many years of cooperation.
