Restoring Balance.
Strengthening Futures.

WELCOME, TO A FUTURE ROOTED IN TRADITION founded in 2003, Native Conservancy protects ancestral lands, revives ocean abundance, and supports thriving Indigenous communities. We invite you to be part of a growing effort to heal what sustains us, guided by traditional knowledge and Indigenous stewardship. When the land, ocean and people are healthy, so is the future.

Our Foundation: Land. Ocean. People.

Founded by Indigenous peoples of iiyaaG (Eyak, Cordova, Alaska) our work at Native Conservancy stands on three pillars of responsibility: caring for our land, our waters, and our people in and around our ancestral homelands and beyond.  When local communities lead stewardship, we restore balance to the environment, strengthen local economies, and share knowledge that benefits everyone.

Land

Through Native-led trusts and partnerships, Native Conservancy protects ancestral lands safeguarding local food systems, unique culture and lifeways, and our deep connection to this place. Our Landback programs are about restoring balance, ensuring lasting care for the places that sustain us all.

Ocean

By building regenerative ocean farms and reviving traditional food practices, we strengthen marine ecosystems and contribute to local economies, protecting and building abundance for generations to come. Our OceanBack programs uplift Indigenous leadership along Alaska’s coastlines.

People

The future of Alaska’s lands and waters depends on empowering the powerful leadership and rich knowledge of those who know them best. Our Peopleback programs work through education, training, and investment in local economies, Native Conservancy supports communities to return to the places that have always been home bringing strength, knowledge, and stewardship for everyone’s benefit.
