Dan made time for people. He always made himself available to partner - listen to and suggest ideas to solve problems. In short order Dan went from colleague to friend. He was a respected leader and good human. He will be forever missed.

Since then, I've had the privilege of leading incredible teams across Segment, Customer Success, Renewals, Solutions Engineering, and most recently our Specialist Sales organization. Together, we've helped accelerate Twilio's transformation toward platform adoption, multi-product growth, and solution-led selling. Today, I'm honored to share that I've been asked to lead Global Sales as Senior Vice President. This moment is about more than an expanded role. It represents the next chapter of Twilio's transformation. As customer engagement enters the AI era, Twilio is uniquely positioned at the intersection of communications, data, identity, and AI to help customers build the next generation of personalized, intelligent experiences. Today, for the first time, you have six generations working side by side: Traditionalists. Baby Boomers. Gen X. Millennials. Gen Z. Gen Alpha. And yet, many leaders are still applying a single leadership style across all of them. That's where things start to break: ↳ What motivates one generation can disengage another. ↳ What builds trust for one can create friction for someone else. ↳ What feels like clarity to one group can feel like control to another. The leaders who struggle aren't managing complexity. They're ignoring it. This is the reference card I wish I had earlier in my career. Not to stereotype generations, but to understand patterns: → How values shift. → How communication evolves. → What trust looks like at different stages of life and work. → What people expect from leadership now. Because leading six generations isn't about choosing one style. It's about adjusting your approach without compromising your standards. The generations may look different on the surface. This morning TroopHR hosted a breakfast workshop where a room of HR and People leaders stopped talking about AI and started building with it. Led by Max Shaw, the Cofounder of Windmill, our latest Troop member event was a hands-on working lab for People leaders to build with Claude. We built a live AI workflow as a group using features like onboarding, recruiting and performance management tools. Then broke into small groups so each of us could automate something from our own role, with engineers helping in real time. Huge thanks to Max Shaw, Brian Distelburger, @Mark Tanner and Nicole Alonso for opening your office and your expertise to us! I've already admitted to a little FOMO watching the yacht photos, panel recaps, and big announcements roll through my feed 😅 But one thing that's become clear to me recently: the future of retail media won't be defined by what happens on stage. It'll be defined by how well retailers, brands, agencies, and technology partners work together behind the scenes. That's where I've been spending a lot of my time lately. The conversations are evolving from "What is retail media?" to: 🛒 How do we better connect media teams and merchants? 📈 How do media decisions drive positive margin outcomes? 🤝 How do we create stronger retailer, brand, and partner ecosystems? ⚡ How do we make retail media easier to activate and scale? Not always the flashiest topics—but they're the ones that will shape the next chapter of the industry. To everyone in Cannes: I hope you're enjoying every second 🍾 To everyone not in Cannes: the work continues! And honestly, that's where a lot of the interesting stuff happens anyway 😎
