Molham Aref reposted thisMolham Aref reposted this𝘛𝘰𝘸𝘢𝘳𝘥𝘴 "𝗕𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝗧𝗲𝗹𝗰𝗼 𝗟𝗟𝗠𝘀" Yesterday we announced, in conjunction with GSMA, the release of the open telco models, 30 models of various sizes and architectures, which were built to address four things: 1. 𝗔𝗰𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘆: While frontier LLMs (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic) have made tremendous advances in solving coding and math in recent years, their understanding of telco is still only around 70% accurate. Our goal was to improve accuracy from 70% to 90%+ (which we did). 2. 𝗖𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆: If one wanted to run frontier models at network scale for optimization or troubleshooting, it would be very costly. Smaller fine-tuned models, on the other hand, are typically much more cost-effective and faster. 3. 𝗢𝗻-𝗱𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲 / 𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆: There are times when the network is not available (e.g., an outage), and it would be beneficial if we could utilize an on-device Small Language Model (SLM) to help retrieve information and answer questions. 𝟰. 𝗙𝗹𝗲𝘅𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗻-𝘀𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗰𝗲 𝗳𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗲𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 (𝗚𝗣𝗨-𝗮𝗴𝗻𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰): To keep the GPU industry competitive, we wanted to train many different models (30+) with relatively new open source GPU-agnostic software #ScalarLM (supported by RelationalAI) that works on both NVIDIA and AMD. This work was accomplished thanks for hundreds of the latest AMD GPU's hosted by TensorWave, and the models, and training software is all open-sourced. Overall, this work would have been very difficult and costly if it were not for the millions of pages of data/documents provided by GSMA members, and the great work and contributors described by Farbod Tavakkoli who along with Gregory Diamos, and Ashish Vaswani will hold a Masterclass on this Weds. Thanks also to Louis Powell for facilitating this work as part of the Open Telco effort, and our AT&T colleagues supporting the work, Roderic Paulk, Gus Mustakas, Jorden Terrazas, Abhay Dabholkar. read more here on Farbod's post: https://lnkd.in/g_B3QVkK

Molham Aref shared thisThank you Gartner for publishing the first ever MQ on Decision Intelligence and making the case for this important category. We are proud to be included. If running your business is like driving a car, Business Intelligence is like the dashboard: it tells you how fast you are going, how much fuel you have left, and how many miles you have travelled. Decision Intelligence is the navigation system, telling you how to best get to your desired destination. In our view DI builds on BI. They are not different stacks. Businesses need both.Molham Aref shared thisWe’re excited to announce that RelationalAI was included in the first ever Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for Decision Intelligence Platforms, a mere 13 months after the general availability of our solution as a Snowflake Native Application! RelationalAI—evaluated alongside 16 other vendors— has the only platform built as a Snowflake Data Cloud-native Decision Intelligence Platform in this assessment. As Carlie Idoine wrote in the Gartner announcement, “Critical business decision models cannot be affordably managed across disconnected platforms and processes.” We are proud to have deeply integrated our Decision Intelligence capabilities with the leading platform for Business Intelligence, bringing together DI and BI platforms for the first time. Molham Aref shared thisI’m delighted to announce that Snowflake and AT&T have invested in RelationalAI. Nothing beats the validation of your customers and partners becoming shareholders. Thank you Andy Markus, Mark Austin and the team at AT&T. Our joint work on specializing LLMs for each of your data and semantic estates is accelerating the way enterprises create value with AI in the Enterprise. Thank you also Sridhar Ramaswamy, Christian Kleinerman, and the Snowflake team. You have built the best and most widely adopted AI Data Cloud and made it possible for RelationalAI and others to deeply integrate. Together we are building the best platform for AI powered Decision Intelligence.Molham Aref shared thisSnowflake Ventures and AT&T Ventures have invested $22.5M in RelationalAI to accelerate the next stage of enterprise decision intelligence natively inside the Snowflake AI Data Cloud. This marks an important milestone for RelationalAI and for the evolution of enterprise AI. Enterprises have been searching for AI that can support real decisions — not just chat, summarize, or predict, but deliver outcomes grounded in their own data, logic, rules, and governance. Today’s frontier models don’t have that visibility, which keeps GenAI at the edges of day-to-day decision-making. RelationalAI closes this gap. Running entirely inside Snowflake, our system brings reasoning, semantics, and enterprise-specific LLM training to where data already lives. The result is fast, explainable, decision-grade intelligence delivered without data movement and without compromising trust. With support from Snowflake Ventures and AT&T Ventures, we’re advancing a future where AI doesn’t just analyze the past, but helps organizations run their business with confidence. BNY's Global Head of Product for Data and Analytics, Jay Hinton, joined our own Siddhartha Bala to talk about how they're reshaping decisions inside the business with RelationalAI, running natively inside Snowflake. Tune in to learn about: • Moving from data-centric to decision-centric operations. BNY is building systems that don’t just report the past, but help the business understand what comes next. • AI that stays inside the enterprise. Governed, explainable, and aligned to existing controls. • A shared semantic model that reflects how the business actually works. This is what makes predictions, rules, and optimization consistent across teams. • A safer way to bring advanced reasoning to high-stakes environments. Molham Aref shared thisOnly 20% of the world’s data is public and there is consensus that it’s tapped out, resulting in a plateauing of LLM scaling. Frontier model providers like Anthropic and OpenAI are trying to work around this limitation in a variety of ways, including the generation of synthetic data. We’re taking a different approach that makes sense in an enterprise setting. We use the enterprises own private data to keep the scaling laws going. We have a breakthrough for efficiently converting private relational data into tokens -and- we have an asymptotically faster approach for RL based fine-tuning. We use the Spider 2.0 benchmark to demonstrate predictable scaling on relational workloads. We are able to cost effectively fine tune an open LLM for each of the ~150 Spider 2.0 databases — improving accuracy and reasoning power deterministically as we increase compute. The scaling laws live-on in the Enterprise! You can read more about our approach on our blog announcing Superalignment for Relational Databases: https://lnkd.in/g4hhenpk Thanks to Superalignment, I’m happy to share that we’re back to the top of the leaderboard on the Spider 2.0 benchmark. Thank you to our partners at AT&T for their brilliance, to TensorWave and AMD for providing us with screaming fast GPUs, to the Spider 2.0 team for their awesome benchmark that helps advance the state of art in text-to-SQL research, and to Snowflake for hosting the Spider 2.0 benchmark datasets. Molham Aref reposted thisMolham Aref reposted thisThe foundational pillar of our AI work at AT&T is being great at AI to drive business value. In the era of Generative AI and now Agentic AI, one of the most critical aspects of being truly world class with AI is to optimize the business value and subsequent return on the investment with the ability to turn human language into computer language to execute complex analytics - as so many of our GenAI and Agentic AI use cases involve some type of data functionality. AT&T is still #1 in the world on the core BIRD Generative AI SQL Benchmark (more news coming there soon), but I’m so thrilled to announce that we’ve now achieved the top spot in the world on the Spider 2.0 benchmark! Spider 2.0 is a rigorous benchmark for evaluating how well AI systems can understand natural language and generate correct SQL queries over complex, real world databases. We’ve partnered with RelationalAI (RAI) on the submission combining Generative AI along with relational knowledge graph technology to achieve the results. As I repeatedly say, just because you can do Generative AI doesn’t mean you do it well. These benchmarks are so important as they show AT&T’s approach is empirically world class and provide the most accurate data results to drive the expected business value. Thank you to the Spider 2.0 team for maintaining a world-class benchmark that pushes the entire field forward and a shout-out to our incredible partners at RAI!

Supply chain data in Snowflake → RelationalAI ontology → chained reasoning: graph analysis found bottleneck sites, rules flagged high-risk suppliers, optimization routed inventory to minimize cost to meet demand. Molham Aref liked thisMolham Aref liked thisYou know your AI company needs a real GTM operator when your tenth customer closes completely differently than your first three. The first few? Founder-led. Hand-held. You convinced the prospects because they believed in you, not because the motion was repeatable. By customer ten, if you're still explaining the same things, answering the same objections, customizing the same workflows, you don't have a go-to-market problem. You have a product-market fit problem. But if a pattern is emerging and you're still the only one who can close it? That's when you need someone who's done this before. Someone who can take what's working, codify it, and scale it without you in every conversation. The gap between 10 customers and 100 isn't about working harder. It's about building the machine that works without you. Most founders wait too long to make this hire. But the best GTM operators don't need a playbook handed to them. They build it with you. #ai #leadership #gtm #founders

Grateful to join Shripati Acharya and the Prime Ventures Podcast to discuss Uniphore’s journey and what it really takes to bring agentic AI into production at the world’s largest businesses. We covered a few themes that keep coming up with CIOs and business leaders I speak with: what industrializing AI looks like beyond pilots, why a horizontal enterprise platform (data, models, security, agents) is essential for scaling responsibly, and the challenge of making AI agents more deterministic through architecture, guardrails, and workflow design. I also shared why small, fine-tuned models can be the right approach for many business use cases, balancing accuracy, control, and cost at scale. At the center of this is the Uniphore Business AI Cloud: an end-to-end platform that helps businesses bring their data together, fine-tune models, and build and deploy AI agents with the security and sovereignty large organizations require. And, it’s increasingly enabled by a strong ecosystem of strategic partners across compute, data, and cloud, working together to help customers move from experimentation to measurable outcomes. I’m confident the next chapter of Business AI will be defined by disciplined execution and real impact at scale. Thank you Shripati for a thoughtful conversation. Let’s do it again soon. #BusinessAI

When most people hear "solid-state," they think storage. But in Santa Clara, xMEMS Labs just gave that term new resonance, literally. The company just raised $21M in Series D funding led by Boardman Bay Capital Management, with Cloudview Capital, CDIB-TEN Capital, Harbinger Ventures, Susquehanna Asia Venture Capital, and other strategic investors tuning in. This isn't another round of capital, it's an #amplifier for a company turning silicon into a new language of #sound and #cooling for the AI era. Founded in 2018 by Joseph Jiang and Jemm Liang, xMEMS spun out of piezoelectric R&D at TSMC and turned what was once wafer-level theory into commercial hardware. Joseph Jiang, a veteran of Knowles, Fortemedia, and InvenSense, leads with precision and swagger, while Jemm Liang, who built Ultrachip from the ground up, drives the engineering with surgical focus. Co-Founder & CLO Wei-Fu Hsu, the former MediaTek exec and IP expert, ensures xMEMS' innovation is as protected as it is disruptive. Their play? A monolithic MEMS platform that transforms voltage into vibration, silicon into sound. Unlike legacy coil speakers and fans, xMEMS tech doesn't move parts, it moves markets. Over 500K MEMS speakers shipped in 1H'24, backed by >250 global patents. The Cypress & Sycamore lines redefine what "small" can do: 1mm-thin, full-range, and capable of sub-bass response once thought impossible in earbuds. Their XMC-2400 µCooling chip, 1mm-thin, fan-on-a-chip, inaudible, moves 39cc/sec of air at just 30mW. That's not cooling, that's choreography at a molecular level. Dr. Chester Hwang, named CTO on Oct 15, 2025, joins to push that curve further. Alongside veterans Mike Housholder (VP Marketing & Biz Dev), Jim Wargnier (VP N.A. & EU Sales), James Lee (VP & Korea GM), Steven P. Bentley (VP Sales), and Martin Lim (VP MEMS Tech), xMEMS is scaling at semiconductor speed. They're already in BleeqUp's AI sports glasses and teamed with Dongguan Rayking Electronics for TWS modules. When OEMs talk "next-gen," they're talking xMEMS-level integration. For investors like Boardman Bay's Will Graves, this isn't just sound engineering, it's signal intelligence. With AI pushing devices thinner, faster, and hotter, xMEMS' piezoMEMS platform sits at the intersection of #acoustics and #thermals, where every millimeter matters. Backing them is a bet that the next wave of #sensorytech won't just compute, it'll feel alive. So what's next? Scaling production, expanding capacity, and embedding xMEMS' silicon pulse into everything from earbuds to AI #datacenters. In a world chasing speed, silence, and fidelity, xMEMS isn't following the beat, they're building the frequency the future will hum to. #Startups #StartupFunding #VentureCapital #SeriesD #AI #Sound #SoundEngineering #Semiconductors #Data #DataDriven #Technology #Innovation #TechEcosystem #StartupEcosystem #Hiring #TechHiring If software engineering peace of mind is what you crave, Vention is your zen.

AI in procurement isn’t about technology anymore. It’s about the willingness to transform. Legacy systems and traditional suppliers are slowing things down because it suits them. As Bob Rosetta and I point out, CPOs can’t wait for suppliers to transform. They have to take ownership, ask the uncomfortable questions, and break through the resistance. #AI #Procurement #CPO #EnterpriseTransformation #USEReady #Migrationworks #MigratorIQ Uday Hegde, Ashwani Bhasin, Amit Phatak, Yugesh Deshpande https://lnkd.in/eU_SpvtK

Heading to DesignCon in Santa Clara this week (Feb 24-26)! I'm building OptixLog: a knowledge graph platform that connects design, manufacturing, and test data for semiconductor teams. We're solving the data fragmentation problem that makes it hard to trace decisions from simulation to production. If you're attending DesignCon or in the Santa Clara area this week, I'd love to grab coffee and chat about: Knowledge graphs for hardware workflows How LLMs can actually reason across your full process (not just isolated tool outputs) Where data traceability breaks in semiconductor R&D Or just swap notes on building in the hardware space Drop me a message here or email me at founder@optixlog.com. Always down to learn from folks shipping silicon. See you there!

When you mentor founders, you are not just helping build companies. You are influencing the kind of leaders the next decade will produce. Over the years, I have worked with student founders across fourteen universities, from Southern California to India. The ideas were different. The environments were different. The challenges were different. Yet one pattern showed up again and again. Most early founders do not lack funding advice. They lack founder formation. Enduring companies are not built by decks, frameworks, or spreadsheets alone. They are built by people with the ability to think clearly under pressure, question assumptions, and stay anchored to their values when shortcuts are tempting. Curiosity is not just interest. It is the discipline to ask better questions, even when the answers are uncomfortable. Resilience is not optimism. It is the willingness to rebuild when the first plan fails, because it almost always does. Ethics is not a talking point. It is the quiet structure that holds trust together long after momentum fades. I have watched twenty-one-year-old founders stay up late not to refine a pitch, but to make their product more honest. Those moments matter. They show what mentorship truly shapes. Not direction, but judgment. Not outcomes, but decision-making. We often talk about building the next generation of startups. What we need just as urgently is the next generation of founders. Leaders who are thoughtful, steady in their purpose, and disciplined enough to outlast noise, hype, and trends. That is the real multiplier in any ecosystem. What qualities do you believe will define strong leadership in the decade ahead? #mentorship #students #founders

Had a great conversation with Alyse DiNapoli from the San Mateo Daily Journal. We talked about the future, clones, lie detectors, and what I call the "it" factor in founders. The technology that seemed impossible 10 years ago is now being built in garages across Silicon Valley. And the founders who will win aren’t the ones with the perfect pitch deck. They're the ones who see a problem everyone else ignores. Here's what I told Alyse: The best investments I've made weren't because the idea was obvious. They were because the founder had something I couldn't teach... a conviction that bordered on delusion, but backed by relentless execution. Skype. Tesla. Hotmail. Baidu, Inc. None of them made sense to most people at the time. But the founders saw it, felt it, and couldn't NOT do it. That's the "it" factor. You can read the full interview here: https://lnkd.in/exwiXDXH

Proud to see PRESAGE reaching this milestone. Bringing world models from research into real production environments — trained on live AI workloads — is bold, and that’s exactly where durable value is created. Cloud infrastructure for AI-native companies is becoming mission-critical: unpredictable costs, GPU pressure, operational complexity… The teams that bring intelligence to this layer will build a massive edge. This partnership with FlexAI is a strong step in that direction. Excited to see what comes next 🚀 #worldmodels

Our #1 risk we took as a software company was in 2011 when we decided to rewrite the entire software code from SAP ABAP codebase built inside SAP to a new codebase on cloud stack. In hindsight, while risky it was the best bet we made in our history. Our #2 biggest risk bet is now when we are going to Outcome Based Pricing. While risky this is the best thing for our Customers and time always sides with customers :) 𝗪𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝘂𝗹𝗹 𝗸𝗲𝘆𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗲 𝘃𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗼 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲: https://lnkd.in/ggrc5S9Y

From our PearX S25 cohort, meet Pravāh, the AI-native operating system for the electric grid When Mohak Mangal, Dhruv Suri, and Aman Gupta looked at the strain on the U.S. electric grid, they saw a system pushed to its limits. Exploding demand and unpredictable supply have made blackouts increasingly common. This costs the economy more than $150B a year, a number that could 10x in the next five years. Mohak Mangal and team founded Pravāh to help fix it. Their platform helps utilities and grid operators make real-time decisions on load, generation, and congestion, reducing blackout risks, optimizing power procurement, and bringing much-needed stability to the backbone of modern life. We’re proud to support the Pravāh team as they take on one of the toughest and most important infrastructure challenges of our time.
