David Dougherty shared thisA magical place…where dreams really do come true. Go Utes!David Dougherty shared thisMagical things are happening at the U. As we reflect on the past year, we’re filled with a sense of wonder at the university’s significant achievements and our ever-increasing societal impact. This year we opened new living-learning communities on campus, inspiring more students with unparalleled experiences. In the coming year, we’ll add to the college town magic with even more housing facilities. We amplified our research efforts in 2023 and reached a new record in funding, allowing for more cutting-edge discoveries and innovations that improve lives. The past year also saw us expand our reach to patients in underserved populations across the state, and we will continue to partner with communities so we can bring our nationally ranked health care to even more Utahns. Thank you to our students, staff, faculty, health care providers, alumni, generous donors, and friends for everything you do to make the University of Utah a magical place. Happy Holidays to you, yours, and our entire extended U family.

David Dougherty shared thisWhy not?David Dougherty shared this//🍃 INNOVATIVE SOCIAL CHANGE Imagine living without the noise and pollution from motor vehicles. It's not a far-off dream - it could be a vision of the city areas of the future. Car-free city areas are steadily emerging worldwide and are set to revolutionize urban life as we know it. In these futuristic urban landscapes, the focus shifts from highways to greenways and from traffic lights to people's delight. Imagine the previously occupied space by cars, filled with bustling pedestrian walkways, vibrant green areas, biking lanes, and efficient public transport. Think of the profound impact this could have on our environment, health, and overall quality of life! Our task is to reshape city areas around people rather than vehicles, cultivating a cleaner, healthier, and more connected world. 🎯 Follow for 🤯 inspirations. Designed alongside first responders, ActionStreamer enables hands-free, first-person HD video from the hot zone to the command post and anywhere in the world. Remote experts can see exactly what crews see, improving safety, situational awareness, and decision-making when every second matters. We’re proud to bring this capability to market in partnership with Safeware, Inc. and look forward to supporting the men and women who put themselves in harm’s way to protect others. #FirstResponders #FireService #HazMat #SearchAndRescue #PublicSafety #5G #Innovation #EmergencyResponse

David Dougherty liked thisDavid Dougherty liked thisAs I step into this next chapter at UKG, I have been thinking about how AI is reshaping work and what that means at the frontline. AI adoption is accelerating across organizations, but adoption alone does not close operational gaps. A recent HR Dive report highlights a growing disconnect: • Only 42% of frontline workers feel leaders understand their problems • 89% say shift level issues are hurting their well being • 71% have considered leaving • 67% of executives report compliance risk tied to shift level challenges Nearly half of leaders say they are accountable for labor costs without real time clarity. The issue is not more insight. It is turning insight into execution. AI can generate signals. But without connected HR, workforce management, and pay systems, those signals may not translate into performance at the point of execution. That is what resonates with me about UKG’s focus on AI in the flow of work, where real time insight drives action in the moments that matter. As AI adoption increases in your organization, how are you ensuring it improves execution, not just analysis? #AI #FutureOfWork #CHRO #CIO #WorkforceTransformation Article that sparked this reflection: https://lnkd.in/ec4GHU6iThe disconnect between front-line workers and leadership is growing, report saysThe disconnect between front-line workers and leadership is growing, report says

David Dougherty liked thisDavid Dougherty liked thisWhen was the last time we stopped thinking about where we're going—and reflected on how we got where we are? Most of us spend our professional lives focused on forward motion. We’re taking the right steps, heading in the right direction, marching toward the next goal. The next transformation. The next opportunity. The next challenge to solve. That's understandable. Progress matters. But recently I was reminded that while we (rightly) focus on where we are and where we are going, we should also pause and think about how – and with whom – we got here. Over the past two weeks, I’ve had the pleasure of attending AlixAlumni events in both New York and Chicago. I was able to reconnect with colleagues I’ve worked with over the years – colleagues who built capabilities, developed client relationships, introduced new ideas, challenged conventional thinking, and created ways of working that continue to shape our organization long after they've moved on. The best institutions are cumulative. They are built over time by successive generations of people whose contributions endure beyond their tenure and whose impact continues to compound. There's something important in that idea of continuity: the strongest organizations aren't rebuilt every few years; they're perpetuated as each generation builds on the work of those who came before and creates opportunities for those who follow. The same is true of relationships. Our most valuable professional relationships don't end when someone leaves an organization; they evolve over time, creating new opportunities to learn, collaborate, and support one another across industries, companies, and careers. We are all beneficiaries of investments of time, energy, and effort made by others. Our responsibility is to make similar investments in those who come next.

A systemic approach is needed to overcome silos. It was a delight to participate in these important discussions, meet brilliant minds and to contribute as Co-Chair of the #NatureMedicineCommission on Brain Health for Economic Resilience, where I will try to advance the Measurement Workstream with friends and colleagues. Please reach out if you want to contribute to this transformative exciting journey! My final message: The future of economic resilience depends on how well we measure, invest in and develop our brain capital. #BrainEconomy #BrainCapital #BrainHealth #EconomicResilience #TexasBrainEconomySummit Harris Eyre Steve Carnevale George Vradenburg Megan R. Recently, there has been a noticeable trend among franchise executives using the term "franchise partner." This raises an important question: do the folks that use that term genuinely believe that a franchisor and franchisee share a partnership akin to the fiduciary relationships typically found in partnerships?
