The question every enterprise, city, university, healthcare system, and nation should ask is simple: Are we manufacturing intelligence — or merely consuming it? Because in the intelligence economy, dependence becomes expensive. Very expensive. The organizations that thrive will not merely use AI. They will own the infrastructure, preserve sovereignty over their data, and participate in the manufacturing of intelligence itself. From my research in AI, it is clear that our work future will change dramatically as we move toward an intelligence economy — one where value creation is driven by compute, data, and intelligent systems rather than traditional labor models alone. However, an intelligence gap is emerging—between those who have access to intelligence manufacturing (AI compute and AI data centers) and those who do not. The prevailing model of building massive, centralized data centers is not sustainable. Energy consumption, land availability, and resource constraints make this path increasingly impractical at a global scale. If humanity is to fully realize the benefits of AI, we must work collectively to ensure equitable, scalable, and sustainable access to intelligence. This is exactly the focus of AI DCT. We are deploying sovereign, modular AI data centers, in partnership with The STEM Practice Company | Oracle Partner, that require a fraction of the power, significantly less land, and fewer resources—while enabling local ownership and control. Adel Elmessiry, Ph.D. liked thisAdel Elmessiry, Ph.D. liked this𝟭𝟯 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀. 𝟭𝟮 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗿𝘀. 𝟴 𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗲𝘀. 𝟰 𝗯𝗮𝗻𝗸𝘀. 𝟮.𝟱 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀. Lessons I'll carry forever. I entered HSBC Bahrain at 21. I left banking at 34. Operations, retail, wealth management, corporate finance, trade and supply chain finance. Four institutions, two and a half countries. More managers than I can count. Here's what stayed with me. 1. The best managers shield you. The insecure ones expose you. Two managers absorbed top-down pressure and turned it into space for their teams to grow. Others, when I outperformed without intending to, responded with sabotage. The lesson: people treat you at the level they understand themselves. 2. "Walk, don't run" is wisdom disguised as advice. A mentor once told me, "In this market, you don't run. You learn how to walk— otherwise you'll be running on your own." I quote it to this day. 3. Titles are temporary. Character is not. The more senior people climb, the more I noticed scarcity mindset creep in for some — abundance mindset deepen for others. Respect, for me, runs from the janitor to the CEO. 4. Every role you "didn't want" still teaches you something. My first role wasn't one I'd have chosen. I took a 50% pay cut to get into a global institution and stayed anyway. That decision opened every door that followed. 5. Reinvention is just permission to be a beginner again. Across 8 roles, the products changed constantly. The principles never did. That's the reason I eventually built my own venture. 7. What you sacrifice without noticing is usually your health. Every transition came with weight gained and gym time lost. Everyone talks about mental health. Almost no one talks about the body keeping score in silence. 8. Corporate culture tells beautiful lies. "One big family" — until priorities shift. 9. Crossing borders rewires how you lead. You stop directing people and start understanding what motivates them. Empathy becomes the operating system. 10. Every country teaches you a different model of power. One taught me power is balance — bridges instead of sides. Another taught me power can be quiet and still deeply respected. I carry pieces of both. 11. What you protect under pressure reveals who you are. Through every shock and battle, I held onto three things: my integrity, my real connections, and my mental/physical health— even when saying no felt like falling behind. 12. Everything is temporary— including the hard parts. Have faith in the process. Speak up when it matters. Protect those who stand behind you. The hard season always passes. The growth never does. For someone new to the city, those connections were invaluable, and they had a lasting impact on both my personal and professional journey. Josh was also a supporter of SuperWorld. He was always willing to listen, share feedback, make connections, and help entrepreneurs move forward. Like so many founders, I benefited from his generosity and his genuine desire to help others succeed. One of the opportunities that came through knowing Josh was becoming a mentor in a startup program at the The University of Texas at Austin , where I had the chance to work with and support the next generation of entrepreneurs. That was Josh’s gift—he didn’t just help individuals; he created opportunities that continued to ripple outward through entire communities. What made Josh special wasn’t just what he built with Capital Factory . It was the way he brought people together. He believed in founders, championed innovation, and consistently invested his time and energy into helping others achieve their potential.
