Lethal Lowdown Episode 2

New 2025 GT350, Sick Week Results, Ford's Domination on the road course and more!

What's up #teamlethal fans—this is the Lethal Lowdown, your ultimate insider’s guide to all things performance, power, and personality from the team at Lethal Performance! In this episode, we go over a few of the biggest racing events that happened down here in the South, along with a big announcement from Shelby.

The Return of Palm beach International Raceway?!

We're certainly hoping so! With various individuals rumored to be looking into purchasing the newly-relisted property, it's looking like PBIR may make a return, giving us and the rest of South Florida it's race track back.

  • Raul Torres, the current owner of South Georgia Motorsports Park, recently visited the track with the hopeful message “Rest assured, we will do everything we can to bring PBIR back as a race track.”

  • A group comprising of local motorsports-oriented businesses and individuals has recently formed, known as "The RPM-Group", looking to build funding and a plan to re-open the track.

SICK week 2025

At the beginning of this month, Sick Week took place throughout South Georgia and North Florida. Covering 845 miles throughout 5 back-to-back days at 4 iconic drag strips, it's arguably the ultimate street-car competition.

  • A few of our #teamlethal family were racing in the event, including our very own Christy High and Alex Corella with "Ginger Red". Riding with them was the Lujan Motorsports family, including William Lujan, who finished 3rd overall in the Street Race 275 class, Gabriella Lujan, and Jonathan Montesino.

  • Brett LaSala took 1st place overall with a 6.24 at 231MPH in Snot Rocket 3.0, showing off what a Coyote-based engine can really do.

2024 brought tons of NEW products from Lethal Performance

The all new 2025 shelby gt350 and gt350r

Shelby American just launched their latest car to the Shelby lineup, the 2025 GT350 and GT350R. While there is some mixed feelings on the car, we're looking at the positives in that Ford/Shelby are still making cars aimed for the enthusiast, with combustion engines, superchargers, and manual transmissions.

  • The 2025 GT350 is just the start, available in both a naturally-aspirated and boosted version making 810HP thanks to a Gen.6 3.0L Whipple Supercharger, Shelby American transforms a Mustang GT into a finely-tuned beast, with Shelby's Catback, Front and Rear lowering springs and sway bars, larger flow-forged alloy wheels.

  • For those track warriors, the 2025 GT350R. While still utilizing the same Gen.4 5.0L Coyote motor and Whipple Supercharger setup, the R will come with more horsepower, a carbon fiber interior 'tub', carbon fiber racing seats and harnesses, integrated roll cage, Trans AM spec high-speed carbon fiber aero package, JRI race struts and shocks with remote reservoir, ProSystems Alcon racing brakes, numerous chassis upgrades, and more. They will have both street legal and track-only versions of the GT350R, with a total of only 36 cars to be produced.

Only 562 cars will be built between both GT350 and GT350R models, as it matches the number Shelby built in 1965.

Ford wins at daytona

At the end of January, the 63rd running of the Rolex 24 took place at Daytona International Speedway, marking the start the IMSA Racing Season.

  • Ford took 1st and 3rd place in the Grand Touring Daytona Pro (GTD PRO) class with the No. 65 and 64 Ford Multimatic Motorsports Ford Mustang GT3, making this Ford's 20th win at the Rolex 24 and the first global win for the new Mustang GT3.

  • During the BMW M Endurance Challenge at Daytona, the KOHR MOTORSPORTS Ford Mustang GT4 placed 3rd overall, driven by our man Billy Johnson and Robert Michaelian.

STAge 3 and 4 Lethal Edition whipple supercharger kits

We know the standard Stage 1 & 2 kits from Whipple Superchargers for the 2024 Mustang GT and Dark Horse make amazing power, but lets be honest... You're going to want more!

  • The Stage 3 Lethal Edition Kit features all of the same great components that you'd receive in the Stage 1 & 2 Lethal Edition kits, including the Gen.6 3.0L Whipple Supercharger, Fuel+ Voltage Booster, and Griptec Pulley, however, we're throwing in an additional Griptec Pulley and Whipple's Carbon Fiber Intake Tube for improved looks and airflow. The added Griptec pulley is a 3.50", which we highly recommend running either an E30 fuel mixture or octane booster.

  • The Stage 4 Lethal Edition Kit carries all the components of all the stages with the addition of Whipple's 120MM throttle body for the most airflow and horsepower capability. This throttle body in combination with the smaller Griptec pulley can produce upwards of 875HP and 650TQ on a 50-State-Legal calibration...
