How does Agilon make operations more efficient?

Imagine a large manufacturing plant with lots of workstations, machines, and people and goods moving in and around the facility. A team of technicians is tasked with taking care of the critical equipment, but parts are stored across multiple shelves and cabinets with no real inventory system. Parts go missing, technicians often take duplicates “just in case,” and stock levels are tracked manually leading to overstocking of some items while running out of others. Production is delayed while technicians search for parts and the maintenance manager can’t budget properly because of the lack of visibility into stock levels or usage patterns.

To address these issues, the company installs an Agilon system near the maintenance shop and all the small parts and critical spares are consolidated into the system. Technicians walk to a touchscreen access point, search by part number or image, and Agilon delivers the item in seconds. Every transaction is tracked by user, date, and time, creating complete traceability. The system notifies the purchasing team automatically when stock falls below a defined threshold and the maintenance manager can view real-time stock levels, usage reports, and trends from an online dashboard. And now the freed-up floor space can be used for high-priority workstations instead of bulky shelving.

How does Agilon work?

  • Items are automatically stored and retrieved using a robotic system that can move diagonally, horizontally and vertically within the modular system.
  • Users add or retrieve items from a secure access point.
  • Each item entered or removed from the system is stamped with user, time, and date information for full traceability.
  • Integration with ERP and WMS systems enables seamless data flow and automated replenishment.
  • Agilon comes with the required software for the warehouse floor as well as the back office.
