Client Background

A Bangalore-based real estate technology firm serving US customers approached Innovination with an innovative market entry plan for Brazil. Instead of the conventional buy-and-sell model, the client wanted to introduce a property swap platform— allowing users to exchange properties directly with one another, a concept gaining traction in niche real estate markets.

The Challenge

The main challenge was adapting real estate listing workflows to a swap-based model where each user could set two sets of preferences:

1. The type of property they wanted to sell.
2. The type of property they wanted to buy.

The system then had to intelligently match these preferences and only suggest properties that met both sides of the swap criteria. This required:

Designing a two-way matching algorithm to cross-check selling and buying preferences.
Supporting multi-currency and multi-language (Portuguese and English) for the Brazilian market.
