30+ Years of Payments Technology Leadership and Innovation
In 1992, founder and CEO Brooks Smith developed point-of-sale activation (POSA) technology, enabling retailers to activate prepaid products at the register. And his innovation opened the door for the entire payments industry. Our Atlanta headquarters grew out of this historic breakthrough and we have expanded into a global company, transforming payment experiences worldwide through our cutting-edge technology.
Founded by Brooks Smith to sell prepaid long-distance phone cards.
Developed Point-of-Sale Activation technology for prepaid cards.
Developed first-ever iTunes retail gift card in partnership with Apple.
Launched open-loop Visa gift cards.
Entered Tolling & Transit category.
